That's so sweet of her! Some ideas: . High end meal delivery from a fancy restaurant . Goldbelly food shipping (you can send things like magnolia bakery food, momofuku, Chicago deep dish) . Something for the home depending on her interests (nice blender or stand mixer; artwork; diffuser - I love vitruvi!!) . Loungewear (washable silk from Lunya, or cute sweater or PJ sets from Summer Salt) And definitely a nice heartfelt note or card!

I don’t have enough framed pictures of my best friend - perhaps a nice framed picture of the two of you together? Also, I really, really love a thank you that describes what a person most enjoyed about a gift. She clearly went to a lot of effort and you noticed. Writing a lovely note stating the things you loved the most will let her know that her efforts paid off and were truly appreciated. Love this story, OP. Congratulations on the baby!

This is so sweet! Congrats OP! You are very lucky to have this amazing, thoughtful friend. It really depends where she is but I would send a massage/spa package. It’s something nice to look forward to and they usually don’t expire for a year so she will be able to use it at some point.

I’m all about heart felt notes! Also this year my Mother’s Day gifts were plant subscriptions for my mom and MIL, and they LOVE them. They are a little pricey but it’s such a nice surprise every month!

How do you cope with work in early pregnancy and exhaustion? I don’t have lots of common pregnancy symptoms except cramps and fatigue. The exhaustion is on high today!!! Yawning through my zoom meetings and it’s only 11am here on the west coast. I’m also a team lead so I need to be present on meetings. I don’t know how to cope lol. I slept a lot through the holidays but now I’m back at work. I even overslept for my 8am meeting today 😫😂.

I am very early in pregnancy and working at a startup. We’ll either get Series B funding between now and my due date or we’ll fail. It could go either way and I’m honestly not sure what’s more likely. I’m invested in this company but worried about the risk of losing my job just before having a baby. Anyone have any advice? I’m really stressed about it and am not sure what to do.

In a meeting I said, “creatives can be savages sometime.” because of their unruly behavior towards internal teams, pushing deadlines, or throwing tantrums. I was called out and chastised by a junior creative for using the word “savages” in an unacceptable manner because the word is slur to non-whites in a zoom meeting. I am a BIPOC creative. Am I the asshole?

Want to buy property in / near NYC. I know with covid prices in the city (I’m assuming the 5 boroughs) went down, while prices outside of the city went up. Is that enough of a move in the market to make it worth it to buy in the city (and not in Long Island for example)?

In 2020 I was diagnosed with epilepsy. I have a number of seizures a day but don’t knowwhen I’m having them (EEG detected it). I started on meds and am feeling much better, however the only way to know if meds are 100% working is to go to hospital for 3 day EEG. I’m supposed to try to live my daily life as much as possible during EEG so I need to work. But can’t do zoom calls. I hadn’t planned on disclosing my diagnosis to my boss but now feel like I’m backed in a corner here. (Cont in comments)

How do you concentrate on work when personal issues get in the way? My fiancé recently told me that I don’t do anything worth appreciating in the midst of an argument about division of household labor. Although I normally do almost all of the housework and at least half the cooking, I have not done that in the past two weeks as I’ve been prepping for trial. I’m furious of course, but have other things I need to be concentrating on.
