Health care is being rationed in several states. This is getting serious. This is definitely worth learning more about as hospital refuse critically ill patients who do not have covid. Emergency rooms are literally flooded, critically ill pts (w covid) wait hours on end in their car to get in to see a doctor. Hey everyone, so my sister and her boyfriend have both gained about 60-70 pounds since COVID started. I’m getting very concerned for them and I’ve seen firsthand how they’re developed awful eating and drinking habits and they hardly ever exercise. I’m very concerned for them, but I have no idea how to talk about it with them and not make them angry or hurt. Any advice on how to have this difficult conversation?
Has anyone else made the switch from Audit to AAS during COVID? How has it been so far in terms of hours compared to audit and do you enjoy it more than audit?
Do you check emails on the weekend because of covid wfh situation/generally? Or check email but wait to reply on Monday unless an urgent response is required?
here's my prediction. If Biden wins, the media will begin to message the following; -The worst COVID risks and outcomes are to people with identifiable risk factors such as obesity and diabetes. -Most other people who catch it will experience a bad flu. -Many other people who catch it won't even know they have it. -It's not commonly transmitted by touching objects and person to person transmittal is low risk except in close contact. The media will then message that we should; (cont'd)
what do people think the impact of COVID will be on job security in the consulting industry?
A friend of mine recently made an Instagram story with a list of conditions that are high risk with a follow-up of what additional conditions a high risk person could obtain if they catch covid. The final frame of this story "your Thanksgiving should be BORING!" So naturally I thought she was staying in town, which I then asked her. Hypocrite! She's driving to her SO family because "they've been really cautious and formed a POD". Uhhh what?! I'm no covid police, but if you're going to (cont.)
If your team is looking to add another analyst to “take on workload” but your own workload has been minimal, is this writing on the wall for you to find exit ops? I’ve been a good performer, but since Covid started, I’ve had barely any work to do - even including the self starting projects I’ve worked on. This is in industry btw. Thx 🐠
I’m back to having no billable work again. My department almost completely dried up when covid started, so I’ve been relying on work from other busy departments at my firm to keep me busy since March. I feel like I start a new job every couple of weeks and am constantly begging for work. I’m just exhausted. Can anyone else relate?

I was considering moving to Canada due to visa issues and realized how salaries are so much lower than the US? Plus I see the taxes are higher? So does Canada have a lower standard of living?
US expats living in London, what proportion of your salary do you put into pension vs investing directly? Would like to start growing wealth, however I am finding tax rules quite complicated / limiting outside of the pensions wrapper. For reference, planning to stay in the UK long term, late 20s, TC ~ £65k.
For those in senior positions- how are you not constantly worried about the success of your work? There’s so many things that can affect P&L that are out of your control, how do you stay calm and not feel like you’re going to get fired as soon as growth slows?

Follow-up/thank you email to the hiring manager after completing a final round interview and haven't heard from recruiter whether they are going with me or not: yay or nay?
I’m planning on asking for a raise for the first time in my career and I want to list out my accomplishments but I don’t want to seem cocky about it. (cont’d)
The best private school (best on ranking) in my area is an all girls school (K-12). What’s the pros/cons of sending my daughter to an all girls school? My wife and I both grew up outside of the US and have not experienced single gender schools. Looking for any thoughts /personal experiences. Thanks!
Not comp related but a question on references: I’ve only had 2 direct managers, current one is nice but I can’t let him know I’m interviewing. Previous one was a bully and I made clear that I cut contact with him when I left (he later had to contact me for non-essential work related stuff but I declined to talk). I have other references I could use, but want to prep for situation when employers ask “why can’t we talk to your previous manager.” Thanks!
how would you feel if, as a person of color, you were then told by this same agency that you were going to be working on multicultural marketing efforts? assume 1) you have no experience in this area and 2) this responsibility was never communicated during the interview process https://joinfishbowl.com/post_d31ry
I was having IT issues when my firm migrated to Microsoft teams. I was getting help and they took control to do their trouble shooting. After fixing the issue, he suddenly video called himself to test it all works. I was laying in bed naked when the cam turned on 💀
Hello Fishes, I have been offered Assistant Director role in EY GDS. What are the roles and responsibilities and benefits associated with this role and how different is it from senior consulant profile in IT? Skill- SAP YOE- 12 years
I graduated last year and was promised a full time salary of 60k (marketing). However, my start date was exactly when Covid hit hard and everyone froze their hiring process and took salary cuts, so my company cut my TC in half. I was loyal to my company and it didn’t hit hard until now. They’re starting to hire many more people in a diff department which makes me think they have the budget now. How should I start and navigate this conversation? Thanks in advance 🙏🏼 (Cross-posted)
I find it interesting the volume of talk about anti-anxiety meds has dropped off a cliff since the pandemic started. Are we feeling less social anxiety WFH?
