My biggest fear is that tomorrow COVID will not magically disappear like we’ve been hoping for

No one thinks it’s going to magically disappear. People need to start reading up and start understanding what the words “pandemic” and “endemic” mean. Covid-19 is a virus and like other viruses, it will never go away or be completely eradicated. However, at this point in time, we’re in the “pandemic” phase of this virus. As infections + vaccinations increase (and assuming no underlying genetic changes to the virus that make the vaccines unusable or infection-based immunity useless), we are going to reach a point where there is no longer exponential or unmitigated spread. As this occurs, we’ll start to exit from the pandemic phase to endemic phase. Meaning, there will be covid-19 cases, hospitalizations and deaths but nothing like now. Controllable. Livable. And trying to get back to what we used to know pre March 2020. Again, no one is saying it’s completely disappearing.

I feel you. It’s been such a nightmare. My perspective - Whenever I feel overwhelmed I think about how previous generations faced much worse (not diminishing other people’s covid nightmares and losses tho!). Even tho I was scraping by for 8 months before landing a freelance gig, I feel grateful that at least I’ve managed to live a mostly normal life and have been healthy - I also have clean water, toilet paper!, cheese, my cat, friends/family, a car that works, and a surfboard. Hang in there, friend. We’ll get through this! Wishing you a happy, healthy new year. 💖

That’s a great perspective!

I mean... it didn’t magically disappear after the US election either, so the odds aren’t looking good for you! (Relax people, it’s a joke).

Eventually we will learn to live with it. Like the world also did with all pandemics of the past. There will indeed come, somewhere in time, a point that it will still be there but will cause less harm. We can not do anything else then deal with it and make the best out of it.

I hope we’ll have widespread vaccination so no one has the severe version of the disease and it becomes more like the regular flu

People don’t think it’s going to magically disappear- they’re just trying to be hopeful after a terrible year. There’s nothing wrong with that.

Didn’t happen

It’s not that big of a deal lol. Live your life.

Our company is making Vaxxed people come into the office but non vaccinated are required to wfh.… I support choice of vaccination or not and this isn’t a post trying to lean to any side.

But I’m more confused as this feels like punishment for getting the vaccine while those who chose not too are allowed to wfh during the holiday season. Our company is required all vaccinated people to come in 3x a week but those who

I’ve been trying to figure out dosage and medication over the past month and wanted some insight from people who may have more experience with diff doses. I started with 5mg Adderall for 2 weeks but it stopped being effective around the 4-5th day. I switched to 10 mg for a week and it was good but a bit up and down, so switched to Vyvanse 30 mg for a week, which was too strong. I’m now on 15 mg Adderall, but it feels like I can’t concentrate and I’m scattered. Question in comments:

The managing partner at my firm just announced we’re moving from 2 days a month in the office to 3 days a week and I’m pissed. None of the partners were consulted about this and there’s no logical reason for it given the type of work we do. I’m thinking of just ignoring this mandate and continuing to work from home. Has anyone else ignored a return to the office mandate, and if so, were there any repercussions?
