My boss has unreasonable expectations for our growth rate and has started micromanaging which is keeping me from doing my job. Not sure if I should keep trying to educate him or leave.

It is a personal decision, you must make an evaluation and see if after educating him you will be comfortable with your position or if you expect something more. Good luck with your decision

Nothing worse than someone breathing down your neck as you try to get work done. Some people...

I think you can try to talk to your boss and set some boundaries but he might not be the type to take feedback well if he's so controlling

Maybe if he did his job instead of watching over yours he could make some progress towards his goal

I'd try having a conversation with him, but if my work environment doesn't make me feel safe or respected then you bet I'm gonna start looking for opportunities elsewhere

This might be one of those 2 weeks notice type situations if you ask me

Is he the reasonable type of boss? Some people you just can't really have a dialogue with, but maybe you can try to have an adult conversation with him

Can you get HR involved in this? Might need some mediation to resolve this issue

Anyone have three kids and working in big law? I just found out I’m pregnant with no. 3 and it’s been a lot trying to juggle morning sickness, but based on my experience, I know this is only the tip of the iceberg of what’s to come. My husband and I are elated, but the anxiety of being a mom of 3 kids and working in big law is preventing me from truly enjoying this news. It would be good to know what it’s really like having 3 kids so that I can evaluate how long I really have left in big law.

I’m new to Canada and currently working as a BA for the same company I worked for, in India. However, the workload is a lot after I moved here and the pay scale is comparatively low. I started job search and currently negotiating salary with an early stage startup for PM position. Problem is, they’re very keen on comparing my current salary and fixing my compensation rather than fixing it based on my performance in interviews and their budget. Is this normal practice here in Canada?

Additional Posts in Community Managers

After 6 years as a community manager I feel exhausted. I've noticed my ideas are not innovative anymore. I'm tired of replying to the same inquiries over and over again. I even stopped using social media during my spare time because I can't handle it anymore.
I know burnout is a common thing and you'll tell me to stay away from social media for 5 days or something. But is this a feeling that will one day go away or is this just the end of my career as I know it?
