Your worth as a human being isn’t determined by being grammatically perfect.

She sounds like an insecure tool. I would never do this to my staff/seniors

I’m sure it’s not as big of a deal as you think! Keep your head up and don’t forget that your actual value is completely unrelated to your job or job performance.

Thank you ❤️

You’re a SC you’re going to make mistakes. As someone who made those types of mistakes before; I think you’re going about this the right way. Other then the rubric, make a general list of things like Track Changes that you need to make sure you do before sending anything out. And as you get further into your career you will automatically check these items off before sending it out.

Thank you. I have to remind myself that people aren’t permanent

Dude, our whole job is to figure out how to overcome problems and any weaknesses. Props to you for figuring out a way past yours. Mistakes happen to everyone, we just try not to repeat them to frequently. Don’t let them get you down. Keep doing you.

You have a toxic boss.

Ugh, I can understand how disappointed you must feel after how hard you worked! Truly, though, leaving on markup is not a big deal at all. Your boss sounds incredibly rude and demeaning. I’m sorry you have to work under someone like this. Honestly? From the little I know, I would be thrilled to have you on my team. I love the effort and proaction to create a proofreading rubric! That kind of mentality will get you far. Keep doing you, and don’t let the haters get you down!!

Thank you! This made my day. I think it was more around the fact that I was inconveniencing her by causing her to go through two more clicks and turn markup off. Ugh 😩

No you don’t!!! He or she is testing you and challenging you to be your best self! They see that in you! Move forward and keep improving and you will be laughing about it at the Christmas party! I promise. You can’t beat yourself up!!!!

You’re not wrong. It’s just how she comes across. Feedback is one thing, Criticism is another.

The manager is probably teasing you. If she’s not, who care?! You did the right thing with a proofreading rubric —- I also keep one and I swear it’s the reason I’m a high performer. Not making the same mistake over and over is the key to being a strong performer.

Perhaps invest in grammarly?

But I appreciate the suggestion

Keep in mind that you’re not alone. We are in the same boat. Control as much as you can, just know that you can never satisfy that type of manager. They are always going to find something to criticize. Keep your head up and continue to deliver your best work. She is your manager, and she is there to review your work and make sure that expectations are met.

I got Grammarly recently and it’s been life changing. The pro version even helps you manage your tone and vibe!

I report to a VP who also handles HR. I am working on building FCPA policies and a compliance program. Can somebody please explain to me why MBB and other top consulting firms are so adamant that you have an MBA? I majored in accounting, finance, and operations management at a top 10 undergrad business school and then got my masters in information systems from the grad school program. I took multiple MBA courses as electives when getting my masters and it seemed like those classes were very basic and easy. Idk if I would learn anything in an MBA program that I hadn’t already learned in undergrad

~4 months ago I had a corp strategy interview at Tmobile. The case question was “should we enter the video streaming market?” After going through the case I concluded that no they shouldn’t. Today they announced they’re shutting it down. 😂
