My boss/mentor was recently promoted. I want to get him a gift. But, I need gift ideas to give him. I would like to spend less than $150. Also, I would prefer not to give him anything related to alcohol. Please help!

Do not gift up. It's inappropriate. Give a heartfelt thank you fir all youve learned, congratulate him, and tell him that seeing his success is inspiring.

Otherwise any sort of inside joke gift.

But a wallet or tie is way too personal.

I would generally agree with you. But, I think gifting up is appropriate in our situation. Without giving too much away and outing myself, I have worked with him for years.

What does he like? Coffee and chocolate samplers are a hit with folks who are into that and should fall within your price range.

You should check out coffee from Bitty and Beau’s, it is a coffee shop that hires special needs adults. They have super cute packages and it would also be a meaningful gift.

Another idea that I’ve done is donate a small amount in their honor to a charity I know they support or that’s within the industry we work. That can be a very professional way to say thank you and tends to go over very well.

You can check out good formal tie and a wallet!

Wallets are such a personal thing though. If it's not exactly to his liking then he won't use it.
