The Liberty Hotel, a Marriott Luxury Collection property that used to be the city jail, is pretty cool, though perhaps not the best located. It is in walking distance to Faneuil Hall and the North End, however. I recommend having a cannoli in the North End. Modern is probably the best now that my favorite, Maria’s, closed down. The North End is quite tourist these days, however. If you’re going to Cambridge, try Toscanini for Ice cream. Several magazines have called it the best in America. If you’re into history, walking the freedom trail and stopping at buildings and cemeteries along the way is worth doing.

Be aware that Labor Day Weekend is traditionally the biggest moving weekend in Boston as lots of leases end and many college students may also be returning. Not discouraging you from coming, but recommend you book your hotel as soon as possible and even potentially get restaurant reservations way in advance. If you are a baseball fan, see if the Red Sox are in town - a trip to Fenway is worth it. Lots of US traditional history spots in Boston and not too far away. Also lots of good museums, including many good ones at Harvard that are free. Just verify what is open and what you can reserve in advance. Hope you have a great visit.

I believe the Harvard museums are closed at least until September

Not cool or high end by any means but the westin Copley is a good central location. Most of the interesting parts of city is walkable from there.

How many firms is too many? I’ve practiced 13 years. Since I was a 1st year associate, every 3 years or so I’ve been recruited for another opportunity that is hard to pass up. I’ve been at my current firm 3 years and got the call again, again about an opportunity that is hard to pass up. I don’t like having a reputation of a flight risk, but this keeps happening. Should I decline to pursue the opportunity just so I have a longer track record at my current firm? This will be my 4th if I move.

Accenture people, what is our automatic status level with Hilton? I normally stay at Starwoods, but booking at a Hilton for next week.

Flew for the first time today. Woman next to me took her mask off immediately upon sitting down and starting chatting loudly with her son. I asked her politely if she could keep her mask on and she proceeded to spend the rest of the flight fake sneezing and laughing giving me the side eye to see my reaction. What an inspirational mother.

Would you ever let your firm/company know that you are looking to leave before you give your two weeks notice? Here’s my conundrum, I have a great relationship with my boss, company, and upper management. I’m planning to switch jobs so I can relocate closer to family. I have some interviews coming up, and already have an offer in hand, so leaving is a foregone conclusion. My boss is going to be blindsided when I tell them I’m leaving - I can’t overstate how great our relationship is. Thoughts?

I've become really jaded about consulting. I find all so often you need to tell the client what they want to hear to keep their business and I feel like so much of the what I recommend doesn't actually get implemented. I'm looking to make a career switch so I can both create and execute on my strategies. A product management path seems very promising for this. Does anyone who switched from consulting to product management have any recommendations of h helpful PM books, courses, or programs?
