and of coming off rude. Also, I know my breath doesn’t always smell fresh..so I don’t want to be hypocritical. Though logically I know mine is normal - after eating or waking up in the morning, and his is not. I’ve told him in the past about it (more like it came up and I couldn’t hide it anymore) and he fixed the issue. But it’s back. I think it’s a bodily thing because I saw him take probiotics for it when we last spoke about it. It’s just starting to completely turn me off. I didn’t even realize but apparently I’ve been rejecting kisses from him for months now! I can’t even hide it. I also can’t get too close to his face for fear of smelling it. And I’m becoming grossed out by him if I’m being honest. Made this post for advice but I guess I needed to vent as well.
But in all seriousness, you do need to have a conversation with him about it. You can frame it up in a way that’s caring - something along the lines of, “Hey, I’m bringing this up because I care about you. I’ve noticed that your breath seems to be getting bad again, and I’m worried it may be pointing to an underlying health issue. Do you think it might be beneficial to talk with your doctor about it?”
Probably in person at one of your places if possible. A lot of nonverbal cues can be lost over the phone.
Just don’t start the convo with “babe we need to talk” / “we need to talk” / “there’s something I’ve been meaning to tell you”. I was on the receiving side of a similar situation and I almost had a heart attack till the end of the sentence.
Also, send him off to a dental hygienist to find out the cause… no point wasting time if it’s anything that brushing and flossing your teeth doesn’t fix within a week.

You could try handling this in a subtle way first. Buy yourself some Listerine breath strips and convince him that you’re obsessed with them and they taste so good and he needs to try them. Then just act like you think he loves them too and keep offering them. Maybe he’ll take the hint after that and then you don’t need to overtly mention the breath issue
Whenever my breath stinks, my gf asks me what crawled into my mouth and died 😂
Maybe he has tonsil stones? He should go to the dentist
