Minor doesn’t matter. Hopefully he goes to a top tier school
Lacrosse? Maybe Coke?
Definitely CS. Competitive advantage vs hardos that can only do Excel

Not to mention every good analyst has Python as part of their toolkit nowadays but most business schools don’t teach it
On a serious note, recommend stats, math, cs, or Econ.
But I got a minor in a subject that really interested me and has literally nothing to do with my consulting. Having deep knowledge on the topic has made me happy and benefited me interpersonally a lot more than another business degree.
Lol, the college and his personality matter more than any minor. Is he interning with these firms?

I have a BA in Poly Sc from an unknown college from a "3rd world" country and I made Directoe in Big 4 in 8 years.
Not saying that schools and degrees are not important - they may open a door but a lot depends on you.
Don't put all your eggs in one basket, sharpen the skills that schools don't teach.

Can add a stem degree to be more interesting. I was Econ/physics and always got questions on the combo

How can you minor in m&a lol
Not kidding, tell him to start studying for his CFA and take the level 1 his senior year of college. Thats how my roomate got into IB when we both went to a non-target school.
Doesnt have to get the full cfa but saying ur taking it and getting at least one level in college can open alot of doors
Rising Star
Depends on whether the school is a target or not.
Mandarin.
Minor does not matter. Getting in to IB is not hard, but the only people I know that have successfully made the jump from IB to PE are genuinely some of the smartest and hardest working people I know.
As others have said he needs to focus on core math/finance/accounting skills and getting a CFA level 1, especially as a senior, would be a big enough differentiator to at least get him an interview.
After that it’s all up to him
