My CEO seems to have a personal vendetta against an employee I highly value. How do I respond to my CEO's request to terminate said employee?

Hmm. Put the possible vendetta aside and put yourself in the Ceo 's shoe to see possible other reason that he might think differently then you about the employee's performance. Be clear about why you value this employee and tie it to what value this employee can or does bring to the Ceo's goals.

I think this is really all you can do. Highlight their value and then leave the final decision with the CEO and trust their judgment. At least you will know you stood up for someone worth standing up for.

I’d just try and have an open conversation with him so that hopefully he can see more of your perspective about why you value this particular employee and feel that they are essential. Then maybe you’ll get some more insight about why he wants you to terminate this employee - I hope it’s more than just a vendetta if he expects you to take such serious action.

This is a tricky situation but maybe there is more to the story than you know. Maybe have a conversation with the CEO about his decision.

Are you a manager of this favored employee?

This happened to me in a previous company and there was no option, it was requested and done. The CEO explained to me how this employee’s behavior was not adhering to the company’s culture, although I saw it as a personal issue. It was a startup so not much I could have done for this employee.

Well, this finally arrived today. It’s actually quite understated which is nice. A bit of a departure from my usual VC and GS preferences. Personal growth?

Hi everyone,

I am running into quite similar issues in almost all of the companies I have worked so far: Most of the senior engineers just exclude me in the important technical meetings whereas I am doing an important part (technical) of a project. They either think I am not knowledgeable enough for a particular task or just that I am good at doing some non-technical/manual task. I am the only female in the technical team and how do I address this issue & to whom? Thanks in advance!

Are there any scrum masters out there willing to take me on as a mentee? I recently received my CSM, but I know that is not enough to get a job. I am looking for someone to show me the ropes and help me apply what I learned in the CSM course so I can start applying for jobs within the next 6 months. I am currently a business development consultant dealing with enterprise accounts. I want to stay in tech but I HAVE to get out of sales. It’s just not for me. Thank you in advance!

Jack of all trades master of none Looking for career advise.

I've got into tech about 5 years ago since then I've worked in SQL, excel, database administration, PowerShell, html, some python, shell, SharePoint, power automate, power apps, various apis and other software.

I feel like I just keep taking on small bits of information/skills but never get specialized. Does anyone have any suggestions on where to go from here or been in a similar situation?

Thank you for your insight.
