I am deputed at the client office. I use PSL laptop only to check mails. But in my last appraisal my manager told me that I need to get 60 credit points for promotion. But due to client work load, i won't be able to do that. So, I have resigned from PSL mentioning the same that promotion will not happen.
But my manager told me that he will try to give me a promotion in next cycle (ignoring the credit points clause). He is asking me to withdraw resign
Shall I withdraw my resign? Persistent
Hi fishes, what are the chances of Pwc AC rescinding an offer, given the market condition. The offer letter I have received seems to be generic and doesn't look it is for a specific project. The role seems to be generic. I am a little hesitant, specially because of HR's behaviour who doesn't seem to care responding to my queries and ignores all my emails and calls. Any advice?

Your SM is a clown
Your SM is correct. Harsh, but correct
Just like you wouldn’t order a Coors Light when having a beer with Anheuser-Busch CEO…
This is dumb. I've worked as a senior consultant to a Fortune 10 auto maker, and was poached by them to join them directly in a strategy position. Even working with senior leadership, there has never been pressure to show up in a on brand card, this is ridiculous many of the senior leadership themselves do not drive onbrand cars.
Anyone who worries about something this trivial is not a manager I would want to work with. Sheesh. Are your client meetings in the parking lot with your car? Does it impact your work? No. Go home and worry about something more important.

I had a colleague of mine get asked to leave the building when he showed up to Nike HQ wearing Adidas shoes. He was asked to cover a different account after that
@northhighland 1 tell me about it. I miss those Cole Hana co-brands.
If you go on-site to an auto client you’ll notice many cars are from other brands. Many people buy a car before working at a given company and there’s no expectation to sell the vehicle
Your SM sounds like a clown

Exactly
My client is a class 8 truck oem. What should I be doing?

This happened to my relative who was in sales and managing an account with Ford back in the 80s. Drove a Ford Escort so there was never an issue. At one point, the Escort broke down and the rental car was a Toyota or something. The client actually made a comment about it, and this exchange is roughly what followed:
“You can’t give us a ride in a Toyota! Where’s your Ford?”
“It’s broken and getting repaired in the shop. It only has like 25,000 miles”
“Oh. Did you get the extended warranty?”
“Should it need the warranty at 25,000 miles?”
Ford = Found on road dead
Draw client logo on piece of paper and tape to existing emblems on car 👍👍
That would at least get a laugh!

Waitress: what would you like to drink?
Client: I'll have a Coke.
Waitress: Is Pepsi OK?
Client: No. *walks out*
Sounds like an awesome SM to work with

On the one hand, anyone who objects to you showing up in a car of a different make seems kinda petty
On the other, Vincent Chin is proof that Detroit auto workers can be pretty petty about their cars
I had something similar happen 20 years ago - I had to park in a lot 1/2 mile away while being laughed at.
This happened to me. I used to work for Chrysler. I showed up in a civic on day 1. Had to park half a mile away. People were pissed. I got so many dirty looks. Got myself a jeep for Day 2.
I get it. It’s an issue with companies who are still 45 years in the past.
I did some work for sikorsky a few years ago and it was great as I was able to get a helicopter to fly to work. Showing up in a car was a big no-no

This happened to me but it was a bmw 6 series, and my director just laughed at me for it

It boggles my mind how American car manufacturers have any pride around the completely garbage vehicles they produce.
The only remotely respectable American auto OEM is Tesla. Else - Japanese, Korean, or German and it’s not even close
The Vietnamese aren’t bad

As long as it’s UAW built it’s fine. Showing up in a Honda or Toyota to a big 3 manufacturer can be a problem, unless it’s Chrysler. They complain about everything despite being owned by the French and Italians.
Big 3 today means GM, Ford and Tesla. Stellantis is foreign.

SM needs to understand that just because he's in charge and technically correct doesn't give him the authority to chew out his subordinates. Chewing out should be reserved for things like lying, not showing up for work, and wildly inappropriate behavior - a simple 20 second casual convo on the side would have sufficed here.
