My client just told me not to sign an email with:
Can anyone refer for UK based roles? I'm currently on a student visa and will get Post graduate work permit for two years from Jan'22. I was working for Cognizant BPS as a team manager, and open for any non technical roles. (Project management, PMO, Operations Lead, Customer service, BPM manager, Contact center, Operations) Any leads would help, pls share the post.
Are people in other agencies constantly being pulled off client work and deadlines to do internal projects? With all this pitching, don’t agency’s realize they need to keep clients happy too?
How do you deal with sub-standard reviews? This is my first review that’s less than glowing, and I really don’t know how to handle it. For context, the project was way out of my sector and typical functional scope. Tight turnaround meant that I didn’t have time to get up to speed. Spoke to my counselor already, but just having a tough time getting over it 😞
How badly do you think you need to fuck up for a client to ask for you to be rolled off a project?
Heres my experience (based in Melbourne, Aus)
- 1 year grad project engineer
- 1 year grad product deisgner/engineer
- 6 months quality engineer
- 1.5 years mechanical engineer (consulting)
What salary do you think I currently should be on? Or should I ask at an interview?
Capex spend vs Opex. Running into challenges with client (IT sponsor) who wants to tag everything to Capex, but we keep running into roadblocks with the client finance person who rejects the PO request and reminds the sponsor that true dev is capex, but all feasibility work, data cleanup, training and support is Opex. Looking for creative suggestions on how you may have navigated this. I’m stuck in the middle of a freakin policy battle with both sides sticking to their extreme opinions. Help!
I have a one year old and my local project is ending shortly. I would have to get back to travel. My husband travels Monday to Thursday. Any ideas how I can negotiate for lesser travel?
Exploring a potential data analytics role at MBB that isn’t part of their general consulting track… it seems more like an internal service that partners with consulting teams and occasionally is client facing. I’m interested in pursuing an MBA in the near-ish future and I’m curious how much this would help my application versus staying in my current role as a B4 consultant?
My project now has made me fairly proficient in both sas and sql language, how transferable and in demand are these skills ?
I am having a total experience of 1 year and looking out for a job in SAP ABAP. Please refer me if you have any openings in SAP ABAP.
Moving Tier 2->MBB, seems no brainer to me, but would that hurt my MBA admission chances at top schools? ie from being good in tier 2/big four consulting pool to being nobody in MBB applicant pool.
Got a job offer but the pay base is only 5% more than what I make. I’ll be promoted in a few months so I could be possibly making more at my current job. However, this job pays a discretionary bonus and it’s within (think AM/ER) at a MM bank which I’m hoping would get me more corporate strategy/PM jobs rather than my current path on Big4 ERP implantation. I’m trying to negotiate but if it doesn’t happen do you think I can find something better or do I do this for a year and exit? I’m 2 YOE
Got one of the rapid covid nose swab tests last week (negative thankfully). But good lord it was unbelievable uncomfortable! If I had to get my little kids tested I don’t know that I could physically get them to do it without seriously restraining them. Have you had your little kids get the nose swab? How did it go?
This is your friendly reminder that you don't have to tolerate sexist treatment in the workplace. And don't let poor treatment at your current job negatively impact your salary negotiations when finding a new job. I'm about to make OVER 50% MORE at my new job!
The job listing I'll make when I get to make a team myself one day:
- We're not a family. We are a group of like minded individuals who are here to do a job well.
- You'll wear one hat. Your hat. If you're wearing someone else's hat not by choice something is wrong and it will be fixed.
- We work moderately hard, and have zero corporate sanctioned play at all.
- You are here for the money, or the money you'll make in the future because of us, and we're hiring you to make us money.
My two year old has started biting his nails, down to the nail beds, which are red and raw. Anyone used those bad tasting nail polishes on their kid?
Met an ex MK partner and he told me Consulting firms hire well and fire well. They intend to keep their cost down. They celebrate well at each milestone moments of projects which people get hooked on
Will any SCOTUS nominee ever get approved again when the Senate and Presidency are controlled by different parties? I just can’t see it for the foreseeable future.
Trying to make a decision for my internship this summer
Pros- stand-alone firm, have heard good things about culture, seems to have more interesting work, timeline to partner
Cons- WLB, less known brand, small
Pros- better comp than Kearney?, have first hand experienced great culture, larger firm
Cons- b4 politics, worried about longevity of brand
Just wondering, what's the overarching take on EY as a firm (both from people on the inside and external)? I personally had a great experience in FSO, but interested seeing it from many sides.
Hey fellas. Is anyone here a business consultant in C&SI practice? I understand that the role is a value consulting role but I would like to know your thoughts/opinion on three things:
1. How is the work in terms of learning and wlb?
2. How is the culture?
3. Annual hikes on an average?
Thanks in advance
Would I be a considered first or second year assuming I qualified in the middle of 2020?
Hi Fishes, I am working in Infosys as an Associate consultant. I am doing manual and automation testing. I am looking for a switch now. So I want to know how much hike should I ask from other companies, as this is my first switch.
Current CTC-7.5 LPA

Meeting with a career coach right now to discuss career options, putting it out there to destigmatize it. It's okay if you need help with a new directions.
HR spoke to references on Friday after final round last week. Heard nothing today. Should I freak out or could it take a few days if they’re about to offer?
