The CIO at one of my previous clients would sign Kind Regards on pretty much all his emails except when I was the sender, then it would be Warm Regards. Go figure!
I never noticed until someone on my team pointed it out and we went back to all his prior emails and... it was consistently that way. Looks like some people do pay attention to these things.

I sign almost all of my emails “Warm Regards”. Just my name or initials if it is internal and short.
I like Warm Regards, it feels more personal and approachable (which is my line of work and personality), and it not used by many people; it feels personalized to me.
This client did you a favor. You may be annoyed at the correction, but they’re right. “Best” doesn’t mean anything. It makes you look like a douche that can’t be bothered to finish the thought. “Best” what? It’s dumb and meaningless.
Not that you ARE a douche! And not that YOU are dumb and meaningless, but it’s definitely the message “Best” sends.
He told me he doesn’t know if I mean best regards or best sandwich

Sounds like that client needs a life outside critiquing email signatures

I’ve often wondered what it was like to have a job where i could waste this level of brain power
Respond with “okay boomer”
BAH2 - right because no one makes fun of your age until you are older, oh except for millennials and gen Z that are constantly made fun of because of their age. Ok, boomer!
Change it to “Best Wishes to Everyone Except _Client Name_”
I sign 99% of my emails this way
Regards is more appropriate.
Tell him we charge by the number of words for emails sent, its better value for him if you just leave it at “Best”
Next time send him
Worst,

Worst sandwiches,

Tell him, Melania says, 'Be Best!'

LOL this would actually be amazing if I saw people do this.
Be best,
John Smith
I thank your client very much for this.
I despise the “best” signature.
Lukewarm regards
Just say “Love You” at the end. Should get them to tears and shut up
Sign them ‘Tepidly Yours’ going forward
Firmly yours 😂 ok I’ll stop now
I have a client who has their “Best Regards” as part of their email signature (it shows in a different color).
They had the audacity to also tell me “Best” was impersonal. Some people....

Who gives a hoot
I mean technically he's right- but seriously who cares...
I was literally sending this dude a ppt that we’d edited together on a call—I thought about not even signing my name in the first place
I just end my emails with
"- Name"
I also leave off my title in the signature line. For whatever reason, it works 😂

I am not bothered by “best” at all or anything like that, but when people start with “Dears,” it does weird me out a bit

BRB, changing my email signature to Best Sandwich.
Also your client sounds...fun.
Could shorten to BS to make it even more informal

Do people actually read email signatures? I better change mine from:
“Plz F*** Off”
