Definition of a senior is going to change. Our senior expectations have always been higher than other firms because of the additional year (which is why A3’s would still be viewed like S1 anywhere else in applying for jobs). It’s going to be a rough transition for everyone getting thrown into that role while managers and up are using themselves as frames of reference
Is it possible that your firm might have to change its culture?
I've had plenty of people in my group get primo after 2 years. If you deserve it you deserve it. They aren't going to promote someone just Bc they were here for 2 or 3 years. I know 5th year associates
They need to get a clue
Some associates don’t know enough and don’t have qualifications such as a CPA in 2 years. I notice they just promote people who don’t deserve here at EY. They don’t do quality work.

They changed it so that you only need CPA before getting promoted to manager. I think they just need more seniors.
They should have been doing that. (Former PwC)
Time to align with other firms

And this begins the downfall of PWC. Next they will be adding FTO and then revenue drops to KPMG levels and, finally, you drop the C and become PW and become as relevant as GT
Chill out guys. we’re all gonna make it
I know you only need CPA for manager but I have seen staff get promoted to senior who don’t deserve. They just promote everyone in 2 years who are out of college. Some don’t know anything!
The expectations are getting pretty low. You would be surprised how little seniors I worked with know.
Two years is already standard for my group, with the occasional 1.5 year promo. I doubt this will effect us.
not all. some tax groups still do 3 yeas for some people (it’s more about readiness). i’m wondering if these people will be promoted mid-year if snapshot indicates progression. maybe it’s a conversation I should have with my RL
Good
Who was sticking around for a third year of being an associate? Was completely unaware that this was a thing.
It’s possible if a manager does not like you even if you are deserving of a promotion.
Hope the raise will be generous for this upcoming CRT
Hmm, I wonder if that’s 2 fiscal years or calendar years?

Fiscal
2 years. 3 years. Whatever - you have to earn it.
