I plan to contribute more to my 401k/rIRA but also want to invest for some short and long term goals like buying a vacation home in 8-10 years and future children’s college funds.

Supervisor said I couldn’t have week off for vacation this summer bc another coworker of higher seniority asked off the same week and two people can’t go on vacation at the same time because of staffing. But this coworker that asked off works different shift than me? He works 1st shift I work second. We have a total of 8 workers and no more than 4 work a day. can easily be covered. This has never been a problem until this year (we got a new supervisor). we’re used to being short staffed anyway

Does anyone take day dates with their spouse/partner? By the time I get to bed, even on the weekends, I’m spent. I wonder if it would be more enjoyable to spend that time together during the day. We both work incredibly hard and are successful, but honestly I’m more the YOLO type and he probably would find it ridiculous to take this time off work. Has anyone found some enjoyment/benefit to spending time with your spouse like this?

Cleared my first round in HCL on 24th Feb, Second round on 4th March, HR discussion on 8th March, another HR discussion (CTC negotiation) on 24th March. Any help / Tip to clear situational based judgmental test

Trying to evaluate monetary offers is difficult since I receive a significant bonus for maintaining my clearance (120k + 30k for the clearance). So I’m evaluating a non-cleared offer for 180k. I don’t want to hold the clearance anymore. Should I evaluate it against the 120 or the 150 in terms of answering the question “is the jump big enough to leave?” With bonus and without clearance, it’s a 40% or so jump, but only a 12-15% jump with only bonus and base included.

Regular Sign on bonus: $10k
Total sign on bonus if you sign early: $30k
