Audit manager here. Planning to talk to partner in charge about becoming a partner eventually. Any tips about what to ask?

I’m a 2010 grad at a small firm. Pretty happy here but don’t see a future long term due to firm size, and I’m not that interested in client generation. I received an offer today for an in-house generalist position where I’d be the 3rd attorney. Benefits are not great, but assuming I can get them to come up a bit on the salary I am considering taking it. Ideally I want to be in a larger legal dept, but I’m thinking I should make the jump now to get my foot in the door in-house. Thoughts?

I’m in pretty good shape but I haven’t been able to fence for two years because of work. Pretty specific muscles needed. I fenced hard tonight, mostly against teenagers. No, I am not in good shape, especially aerobically. Time for rowing machine and jump rope on the days I’m not fencing (2-3 per week). It will take a couple of months. I’m going to hurt tomorrow. Ugh.

Do you think 4-5 days is long enough to know you want to return a cat to the shelter? A friend of mine just adopted a 2 year old cat last Friday, and all weekend the cat has been exhibiting fear and anxiety, so she took the cat back today.

The cat was labeled a level 1 cat, good for new cat owners, but after my friend complained about the behavior, they think the cat might be a level 2 cat for experienced cat owners. I’m judging my friend for not giving the cat more time to adjust. Thoughts?
