My company filed an AOS to extend my visa and change it from L1B to L1A. I have all the prereqs being a manager both in my country before entering the US and after. Last Friday I received a message saying USCIS is sending me an RFE. Can anyone tell me based on experience what type of evidence they could be requesting?

I just received an RFE for my L1B to L1A conversion and they are asking for 1) proof that I had specialized knowledge prior to coming to US, 2) proof that I am really a manager in the US. So they are challenging my original L1B and my current role... My concern is, what happens to my AOS process if the L1A conversion is denied? Does anyone know or has been to a similar situation?

If the L1A extension is denied but you have a pending I-485, you can lawfully remain in the US until you get your EAD or GC. You won't be able to be employed anymore, so most likely your Firm will put you on administrative leave unless they have a backup plan (recoup lost time while you were out of the US, change visa type if you qualify, etc.)

I worked in assurance at Deloitte outside the US for 2 years. I then moved to the US and completed my masters in a year. Currently working at EY US but I was hoping to switch to Deloitte US if they will be willing to sponsor me on L1 visa. How likely will Deloitte sponsor and where do I start from? Any referrals? I have 2.5 years of OPT (including STEM) left.

During the difficult time, be mindful while going out for protest. Being an immigrant, it’s a high risk for your visa renewal. There is ongoing police activity and probability of getting your name in police record, which will impact your visa renewal. Be careful and stay safe and don’t do anything which is unlawful in a foreign country (not that you do unlawful in your home country).
