Are you open to any other titles? I rarely see Chief of staff openings except for in government positions and in rare occasions large corporate but generally they fill these roles internally if they have them.

Yes, I’m open to Human Resources positions or Project Management based positions.

You can check out the rtx careers page. I’m happy to refer you for anything your interested in but you won’t find anything with the chief of staff title

How do you know your true worth? And once you know, how do you make sure you get it?

I am on a team that manages relationships with the banks that hold brokerage accounts for a large Asset Management firm. I have gained an enormous amount of experience (relationship mgmt, project mgmt, analysis), and compensation is decent - $85k base with $25k bonus - but I have no idea what my top earning potential would be if I switched companies or pursued another role. What is the best way to find out?

Additional Posts in EAs / Executive Assistants

I’ve recently started work at a very young tech startup. Coming from a big law background, this was a huge change of pace/environment. I’m having a lot of trouble getting used to how unstructured the startup is. It feels like hire ups give a set of instructions then talk as if they don’t remember, or then decided rules A, B, C and D applies without being clear this was the case. Is this just the general startup environment? If you experienced this before, how did you deal with It?

Hi! Is anyone using Microsoft Teams functionality with an Admin team specifically? Looking for some good use cases of anyone has any.

Fishers, any tip to apply and ace for a role that you have zero experience? I have more than 10 years of experience as EA and want to move to OM/admin manager role however most companies only hire those with minimal 3-5 years of experiences.

Does anyone know where’s the best place to find a remote EA position? I’m looking to leave my current position and am having some trouble. I know remote positions are available, I just haven’t been looking in the right place it seems.

Salary range around the US. I know that the range varies wildly.

Currently in NYC making mid 80s.

I am looking for a new role where I can work remotely global, and wondering if anyone has any leads? I’m currently a “ministry assistant” which means executive assistant, administrative assistant, and customer service rep all in one. I’d also like to move out of my current area, which is working in a church.

I applied to work for my dream company as an EA and the interview process was going well. They loved me but did not think I was a good fit for the role I applied for. They did however think I would be a good fit for another role opening up in a few weeks. I expressed that I was open to the role but I have not heard back since. It has been about a month. Should I give up on my dream company or trust the process? I have reached out twice so far.

What are some subtle red flags to pass on working for a company/team?

One example was a panel of interviewers at a top tech company within FAANG (is it MAANG now?) constantly rubbing their temples in a stressful manner when talking about their day to day… Another was an interviewer telling me that the leader disregards other’s calendars, senior or not, because they should trust that whatever meeting she has is important… so thoughts?

Has anyone made SMART goals as an EA? I can’t wrap my head around them and am struggling to put my goals into words that are specific enough and measurable. Help?

Hello is 70k for a Executive Staff Assistant in San Francisco a good starting salary?

Is there a cooling period with Amazon for applying after you got through power days. The feedback I got was that they went with a candidate that is a better fit for the position which doesn’t sound negative on my part.

How many of you are remote, as in you don't have to go in at all? I am, but I am wondering if this a unicorn situation and if I ever change I will be expected to be around people again. Working from home has been life changing for my mental health and I can't imagine going back to in person every day. A recruiter reached out to be recently about a hybrid role and I practically ran away screaming.

I have 5 years of experience as an EA in nonprofit and healthcare. Please advise how I can transition to tech, startups, and finance company. I’ve been applying but kept getting rejected.

I am just started in to a new position. I got through the onboarding and now I am in training. Now, I will work 2 or 3 jobs to save up for retirement age when we are able to get out and experience our home planet.

Help. I have an interview tomorrow. Please give your best tips.

Want to improve my verbal and written communication skills. I hear reading more would help but I don’t read as much as I used to. So I’m wondering what books would help with that? Should I just read books that tickle my fancy like suspense and true crime novels? Help! Welcome to all book recommendations!

Who else feels like the stress of this job mounts daily! Ever-changing, lack of communication, poor compensation, and no value placed on our jobs, yet working more hours than before and expected to support more! I’m about over it all!

Saw this on LinkedIn and had to share. Would you take a job with compensation like this? Why, why not? I’m curious.

To me, I think it’s unrealistic to expect someone to work for no cash comp for four months. It’s laughable.

Hi!! Are there any admins where who work on a trading floor? Im interviewing for an administrative role on a trading floor in Manhattan. Looking for tips on what to wear - is it pretty similar to a “hedge fund dress code?”
