Reach out to them for a 1:1 personal chat a few weeks after they've officially left. You don't need to be besties to voice this exact concern and get their thoughts. They will tell you what's up if they feel like it, but I'm assuming at least 1 out of the 6 might say something, or you get different pieces of the puzzle from each one that you put together. Either way, not asking only sets you up for failure in case there is something to be weary of.

Solid tip. I think I’ll do exactly this 🙏

OP, I forgot to mention. As ex-Deloitte myself if you need a job or want to look for something else in the next few months, DM me. We’re hiring.

For those if you who transferred from consulting to product, do you feel satisfied with the move? I'm a pm myself and enjoy moving to different clients to work on different products every 2-3 years. How it is to be joining ft in a tech company and working on the same product for multiple years?

Also keep in mind that the whole industry is going to be roiled by a year’s worth of deferred natural departures that were put off because of the pandemic. Every team and every company is going to see a wave of leavers but that doesn’t necessarily mean something is wrong with the company.

Good point. I can imagine a good chunk of the workforce deferred leaving since maybe they were coasting. But at the same time, hiring has been insane for the past 6 months. I can also see another wave of exits as some firms are starting to call people back in the office (putting aside changes resulting from the delta variant)

Well, first off, why are you assuming those people left because of something bad? They could have left because there’s a culture shift and they’re not for it. Point is, change isn’t always bad as long as there’s a good reason behind it.

Yeah. You’re both correct, but I wanted to make sure I called timeout and there wasn’t an assumption being made without evidence.

Someone just posted about the great resignation trend, but it's definitely a thing. However, this kind of churn in a single company is always disturbing. it would be nice to know if you could find out from someone who left why they did. This is at Deloitte, yeah?

Yeah I’ve been seeing job updates on LinkedIn almost every other day. No, I left Deloitte a few months ago back right when everyone was gearing up to leave since people just got their raises/bonuses/promos. 3 months here and now this wave of resignations is tearing us apart.

I would find out why they are quitting before you start panicking. Maybe they're being poached. How has work been going for you?
