My company - protiviti only pays up to $1000 for certificate materials and I am going to study for the CPA and am hoping to use Becker which is $3200. Does anyone know how I could get a discount ? Ot

I used gleim which was cheaper at the time. Would recommend if you're a self study type.

I used Wiley and passed. Wiley had an amazing test bank when I was studying 5 years ago; not sure if that’s changed. I don’t think you need Becker if you’re concerned about price - my friend lent me her Becker book to look over and I stopped after a chapter because it basically said the same thing.

Everyone always raves about Becker but honestly it’s all the same material so why spend more is my thought Thanks guys!!!

Surgent. It’s cheaper/has a payment plan. Never expires. And it uses ai to make you focus more on areas you struggle with so you’re more well rounded

Did you just reference artificial intelligence for a cpa software?

Or has anyone else used a cheaper version?

I know many people at Protiviti that have gotten Becker through the firm. Maybe it’s 1,000 if you do it on your own but look into getting it through protiviti

Anyone live in the North Center/Lake view (Southport Corridor-ish) area? I’m looking to buy a place and there seem to be some good options there in my price range. Just not that familiar with the neighborhood and surrounding area. I would spend time visiting before deciding but given the quarantine that’s currently not an option. Any thoughts would be appreciated!
