Not illegal. Fairly normal. Most companies don’t even offer paternity leave and if they do it’s much shorter than maternity leave.
What about it seems 'illegal or something'?
Where I live: Maternity leave about the same, paternity leave two weeks (and this has only been introduced this year)

There’s nothing illegal about not having a vagina that needs some R&R.
Ours is 8 weeks short term disability fully paid when you deliver then 8 weeks parental leave is offered to both mothers and fathers.
So for a non- delivering partner (e.g. dads), that’s 8 weeks paid parental leave.
For the person that delivers, it’s a total of 16 weeks paid leave (8 from STD, 8 from parental).
Parental leave is about bonding with your child as well as the emotional and physical recovery of having a child. Men really only need the time for the first one. To me 16 weeks isn't enough for all 3. There is nothing illegal about it
