My coworker has just resign and I’m thinking of talking to my manager to see if instead of them hiring a new employee to increase my salary (my current salary + what this coworker is currently making) and I will take care of all of her responsibilities. I’ve been to a few interviews for other jobs, but I either don’t get a call back or the salary is too low.
Is this a good idea?
My main concern right now is to increase my salary. Have many bills to pay and want to start saving.

Go for it. I would have given it a go. And see if you guys can come into a middle agreement. Don’t as well over do it.. to avoid burn out or lack of life balance

This sounds like it could easily backfire if you are already working full time. It could give the impression that you're not at capacity, so why should they pay you more?

like

Set your expectations accordingly. Your manager will not pay you the entire 2nd person's salary since it's impossible to work 200%. But you might get a bump, go for it

Company 1, no budge on base, yes to sign on bonus. Company 2, no budge on base, yes to sign on. Company 3, no budge on base, yes to sign on. Company 4, no budge on base or bonus. I am currently doing my full-time internship at a startup where I am getting paid 17$/hr. I will most probably be continuing with them in Fall as a part-time and asked for an upgrade to 25$/hr. I asked for that upgrade because I already have around two years of experience outside of Canada as a social media executive in a multinational company. I am currently doing a masters degree at Concordia so I believe 25$/hr would be more appropriate. Am I aiming too high?

Received a job offer today and unsure how to proceed. The role is lateral but with more opportunity to advance. The offer consists of a 17% base salary increase, a 25% annual bonus structure, and a signing bonus of 25% of my base. I feel that the offer is fair but the downside is fewer vacation days. I intend to negotiate the vacation time but as far as the compensation I am unsure if I should negotiate.. the offer is fair and I don't want to be greedy but I don't want to miss an opportunity

If your salary expectation falls outside the range that HR may have shared in the initial round, do you continue interviewing with the hope that they may make an exception if they really like you and offer you more ?
PS- this is when HR does not know what you make or expect.
