My coworker who’s the same level as me keeps trying to pass on her work to me. Today she said let’s set up time to discuss next week (I’m thinking she wanted me to set it) but mentioned the output of the meeting is something she would like to present at a broader meeting. I just said yes let’s, and left it at that. She’s my peer but been longer at the company and also about 8 years older but by no means do I report to her. Is it wild for me to be annoyed at this situation? If she wants to..

Are you attending the larger meeting? If so, I would start the meeting by saying something like”I will present this part of the presentation since we are working together”. If she declines I would have to “research” any further information that was needed and probably wouldn’t provide it.

You’re a manager, you need to put a stop to this and kindly decline. This person sound like they’ve targeted you as a pushover.

Just tell her to google it

I really need to learn to be more assertive.

Run with this particular initiative that’s fine by me but by no means is your gal going to do the work and not get credit for it. Looking for some thoughts on how to navigate this, please..

Just don't set it up.

I hear ya, but it's not on you to feel guilty or bad - the other person certainly doesn't.

You could always invite the person you both report to. I'm sure they wouldn't want either of you wasting time on her trying to negotiate that you take over her work. If you can do both jobs, maybe it's time for you to get a promotion.

In that case you can just tell your manager what's going on and ask what they want you to do.

I wish I had a manager like you, mine have been evil witches 🤣👿 especially the women.

Do nothing.

When they next pass their work to you, say no. If they insist, shift the communication is to text form - email/ slack/ whatever your org uses, and continue to say no. Then raise your concern with your manager about feeling like you want to support your coworker, but don’t want to put your deliverables at risk.

So the meeting happened today and she not only talked to the initiative but also passed off one of my ideas as hers. Like Bruh what .. legit so pissed off man

Anyone know what the salary should be for a first year associate working at the biggest defense firm in Florida? I just got offered this month at a north Florida branch and not sure whether this is a good salary:
$12 per hour quarterly bonus after hitting 150 billable hours.

I’ve heard some defense associates have a set quarterly bonus it doesn’t seem to be the case at this firm.

My lovely ladies ! I need a Halloween costume for a mandatory dress up Halloween work party. Please help

I gave my notice last week. Timing is unfortunate; I have a new hire 60 days in. I told them Monday I was leaving. Today was our regularly scheduled check in. I asked how they'd digested the news. She said she was really happy for me and super upset because I was "the first real manager" she'd had and that she came to work here specifically to collaborate with me. I'm heartbroken.

How do I get someone on LinkedIn to notice me? I have applied for positions in tech that I know my skills meet their requirements. I have commented, liked and in-mailed the recruiters and they never respond or acknowledge me. Companies like: Yahoo, Meta & Salesforce!

hi everyone. Looking for advice! I’ve been working in a supply chain role at manager level for a private company for nine years now (since college). I have a ton of experience and an MBA but I feel like I can’t compete with other applicants applying for the same jobs coming from larger companies. It’s discouraging to say the least. Does anyone have advice on how I can transition into SCM consulting or branch out to other roles with my experience ?

So I work with a couple of women (also in leadership roles) who are downright mean. They tend to steal my ideas as their own or even present on work that my team did without giving any credit whatsoever. They talk to me, and everyone else, with very authoritative tones although they have no real authority over us. It creates a miserable day to have any interaction with them! What gives?!

Hi ladies 🫶🏾 Anyone here work at Amazon and willing to give me a referral? I would greatly appreciate it!

I’ve been submitting applications because my company has been doing layoffs and pay cuts. I was informed yesterday that they will be doing additional pay cuts starting next week. First my bonus was cut by 60% and now they have mentioned they are going to cancel it altogether. When interviewing for new positions how should I explain why I’m looking for a new job even though I still (at least currently) have a job, just major pay cuts?

Any of my lady bosses ever experience any apprehension or anxiety when applying for a position that is outside your current scope? I recently was contacted by a internationally known corporation for a senior level position, but I am currently only in an entry level position. I’ve been experiencing a great deal of anxiety when thinking about transitioning into that role. Even though I KNOW I would thrive with the company, my anxiety is really getting the best of me at the moment. Any advice?

Given the current environment, would you recommend to interview even if you aren’t looking to leave your current company? My company said they aren’t going to do layoffs but I don’t buy it lol

Does anyone have "trick" questions they ask when interviewing? Another post made me think of this. #1 most important thing for me is attitude, I can train the work but can't fix the attitude, so questions regarding how they handled a past work mistake or a time that they think they could of handled something better. #2 Excel - one question "What's the coolest thing you've ever done with Excel?" this will uncover their actual skill level and if they want to learn more about it.

Should I stay in my current job to give a clear signal that the internal offer is unacceptable (and look for a new job), or give-in and take the bad offer bc of title(and look for a new job)? I moved to Germany and accepted the initial salary offer with little understanding that I am paid slightly below market. I have a new opportunity internally at an executive level. After four months of negotiation 🚩 they have not added a single euro to the offer.

I am currently a board certified hearing care practitioner- I handle all task of hearing screenings, programming of hearing aids and counseling patients into better hearing. Got to love when a man takes it upon himself to go to my boss and tell my direct manager that he thinks that I am incapable of completing my job just because I told him we can talk later as I’m busy right now, he barely even knows what I do. I literally have everyone above me saying I’m doing great. I just think he doesn’t like the fact that I’ve declined his job a couple times before he got it and is taking any opportunity to push me down to feel better about himself.
