Do you sell a lot and make the company a lot of money?
testing comment
Sometimes that’s just “wordsmithing” the acquisition to put the team being acquired at ease.
Typically it’s redundant roles that get rationalized (think back office roles). Without knowing the strategy behind the acquisition, it’s hard to really narrow down the advice here, but unless the newco has a rainmaker that overlaps with your vertical/territory, don’t think I’d be too concerned.
Yes, I’d be worried. Does the acquisition company have a sales team as well? I keep my resume updated just in case.
Yes, they have a sales team of their own. From what my manager explained, they'll be operating as a separate entity for the first year, but I have to wonder if that will change.
My company recently did; it’s existing sales team was fine, it was the acquired sales team that wasn’t. We have other changes going on though since during this time as a private backed company, our equity firm sold to another equity firm and there’s been shake ups from that. My resume is updated & out there just in case because c level switches make me anxious from prior experiences.
I might reach out to your manager about it. It is often a concern during mergers. If you've been there a while and have seniority, you should be OK, on the bright side.

Does it look like the new sales management of this acquired company is jamming their guys/gals into the primo sales positions (and stealing pipeline from the veterans)? If they are, how tight are you with the founders of your current company?
I think I would reach out to HR for clarification.
