My current role started out as a way to increase my skills, but for the past year the majority of what I’ve done is transcribing data between systems, which is one of the things I’m very bad at. My brain switches letters/numbers. With some recent changes, all other responsibilities were removed. I had a good reputation in the company before this, but now every day I feel like a failure because I keep making mistakes.

I’m in a rather peculiar situation. I have been in the HR field going on 4 years, I have over 11 years of management experience, I got my PHR last year and I recently graduated with my MBA with a concentration in HR this month. I am ready for a more challenging role. However, there doesn’t seem to be much available at my current company. However, I am going on 5 months pregnant with the expectation of being out in October. Account ppl - hello. My role has recently become very project management and account focused. This has always been someone else's job. My role just requires many hats. I keep making small faux pas like emailing clients late (once) without considering what this looks like. There are better ways to learn than the hard way.

It drives me nuts that people keep talking about years of experience (YOE) on this app. YOE doesnt matter! You can be a distinctive performer at a top tier Firm and reach $300k comp in 3 years out of college; while others might take 10+ years to get there...

For the past 2 years I’ve felt like a shell of my former self. I know that I can be a good communicator, organized and hard-working etc. but I feel like I’ve lost all motivation to try. It’s really impacting my job performance as I am not able to be proactive anymore. It’s also affecting my self confidence as I feel like I’m not useful to my team. It’s hard to find motivation since it feels like a vicious cycle. Also feeling very self conscious applying for new jobs knowing I am like this :(

I just need a space to breathe and let my frustration out: I’m tired of job ads asking for my evenings& weekends on top of 40 hours, 5+ years experience on top of my college degree, shoving multiple positions under one role, for barely $20/hr. Please stop asking for my life in exchange for a paycheck that barely covers cost of living in todays economy. Please stop interviewing me multiple times only to move with somebody else and take weeks/months to get back to me with a decision.
