Cole haan has cool work-friendly casual shoes
You could throw in some casual chinos as well to mix up the colors a little bit from just denim.
And most importantly - you NEED to make sure everything fits. Nothing takes your style up a few levels like well fitting clothes
Second this. Especially if your thin, make sure you're wearing slim fit.
Shoes sound like the number 1 opportunity here - get a pair of casual loafers at least. Next opportunity would be a casual blazer.
Casual blazers
Some great shoe advice in the comments here!
I want to second some of the sentiments on upgrading the pants game as well. Chinos (classic cotton twill as well as tech material) and 5-pocket pants are good opportunities to give you more options than just jeans. Brands such as Bonobos, J.Crew, and Lululemon (for their ABC/Commission pants) are some great options for the above mentioned.
Good call! Totally meant to include BR.
Also, if you're not using magnetic collar stays already you totally should, Wurkin Stiffs 15 dollars at Nordstrom Rack. I think the vest game is a bit played out, to me, theres nothing like a nice cashmere sweater in the winter, super classy looking if it fits well.
What kind of sneakers.
All birds are not stylish/fashion forward, but they’re comfy and hip (I.e. techie).
Slim, pointed leather shoes (cognac, tan, burgundy) are great and go fine with jeans/bizcasual or AE loafers
Bart Simpson socks
Vest? Really?
Agreed! That’s why I’m here. :)
you could get a pair of penny loafers or some dressier leather sneakers, like magnianni or cole haan. if you’re wearing jeans it might not be a bad idea to lose the vest and throw on a blazer.
My fiancé is in love with these. Says they feel like sneakers made of clouds (yeah he could do a commercial for them, I know) but perfect for casual Fridays - he’s an attorney so pretty formal dress code
