I do believe this option is only available to people who are married (legally or common-law). It's unfortunate that some states don't recognize this, but I don't think there's much of a workaround here.

like

Agreed. Honestly most places I have worked you can't even add someone you are common law married to. Usually you have to be legally married.

Sounds like her boyfriend needs to put a ring on it

Tell me about it!

Hmm, this is tricky because on one end, I see where they are coming from cause technically anyone can say they've been in a common-law marriage without the proof. I don't think it's discriminatory

Most companies I’ve dealt with have a form you can complete and send, since not all “partners” are married. Tell them to ask for that!

Yes they have completed the DP form given to them by company, then company said, made mistake and gave them CLM form. Concern is that her State does not recognize that status. They have no issue committing to CLM, but if State does not recognize, what then?

This started out as a teacher shortage BS post with my typical “there’s no such thing as a teacher shortage…” rant, upon reading the article, I uncovered something far more insidious.

https://www.virginiamercury.com/2022/08/09/virginias-teacher-shortage-is-fueling-big-spending-on-recruitment-and-retention/

“James Fedderman, president of the state’s largest teacher’s union… also blamed intensifying culture wars around LGBTQ issues and so-called critical race theory — including an email tipline set up by Gov. Glenn Youngkin as a way for parents to report on “inherently divisive practices” in schools.”

SPHR exam- has anyone ever been “randomly selected” for an application audit? I am unfamiliar with recruiting actual recruiters and am surprised by the average salary.

I'm seeing salaries for senior recruiters,5 years experience, averaging $120 - 135k. I'll be honest, this has popped the lid on my budget. I need someone who can be strategic and tech savvy, who can recruit and lead a small team (>3). I'm a supporter of paying market standards but this seems high for the need. Is this standard and I'm just out of touch?

I’d like to be prepared for the initial phone screen convo, which will only last 20-30 minutes. The JD shows the salary range as 110-130(USD) commensurate with experience, but I’m happy to land anywhere in that range—yet I don’t think it’s good to disclose that. How can I tactfully still talk to the recruiter about landing closer to 130? Not trying to be greedy, but certainly aiming high!
