It’s basically a glorified staffing firm. During the Great Recession, they got rid of everyone.

They like Big 4 people. I went from EY to The Seigfried Group (TSG) and stayed with them for about two years, and now I’m back in PA. They put a lot of pressure on sales. Every month (or maybe quarterly) we had to report on the cold/hot leads we had introduced and that had a direct impact on our bonus. Overtime was paid quarterly, pay was competitive and atmosphere was really good. Everyone was pumped to work there. As EY 1 said, the firm went from something like 26 offices nationwide to about 12 around 2007-2008!

I’ve recently joined from 8+ years at PwC in two countries and three different PwC groups (including assurance) ... Siegfried isn’t for everyone, but I needed a move and didn’t know what role I wanted. I didn’t want to take the risk of committing to one role in one company with one reporting manager... and didn’t want a couple of consecutive quick stints in my resume. I genuinely think you can put in a couple of years, build up a broad range of skills quickly over a range of different projects (even if they are bad, there is always an end date... ) and enjoy the better comp and bonuses and then move on to a better role. Yes, there are some preachings from the CEO; you can take it all with a grain of salt ... and a a Saturday or two a year to focus on your development and get paid an $8k bonus for it - give me that over working weekends straight for months on end in audit busy season any day!

Ive read reviews on Glassdoor for which my recruiter told me to ignore as only angry people post there, had the interview, and the people I talked to are all focusing on the life aside from work and how to be successful and reflect on yourself. There seem to be tons of money and lots of inspirational speakers/events, and you’ll seem to be involved personally with them as well. It was a weird/interesting interview and not sure what to think of it. Will be great if anyone has friends/ work there could share some thoughts

The projects were interesting and more than temp work. I spent over a year at a client doing a system implementation, that was pretty interesting work. They call themselves a Resource firm rather than a temp agency. The idea is that they have experienced CPA/MBAs that can fill in for a client and be immediately functional, because they only have experienced hires (typically Big 4 Managers and up, or at least experienced seniors).

Churn and burn. Nothing wrong with it

Terrible decision

I’ve heard nothing but terrible things from everyone who went there. Promise the world and deliver nothing. Additionally a friend who left bc the client she was assigned to asked her to falsify entires and when she said no and reported it to Siegfried they told her she should do what the client requests.

Manager 1 - that’s a good way to lose your CPA license 🤦‍♂️

Would love some advice—I’ve spent the last 2 yrs in sr level role doing policy work I enjoy. early on I discovered I was srsly underpaid & had to fight to fix it. Then leadership changed & things were good, until recently they dangled a promotion only to tell me it wouldn’t come with a raise for at least 6 mons. Then a diff agency asked me to apply for a role that pays a lot more but the work sounds so boring. Do I follow the money or do I keep doing work I like while feeling undervalued?

An opportunity sort of fell into my lap and wanted to get other thoughts. Internal audit manager role, 100% remote, 20% base increase plus better benefits. I work on a lot of audits on the tax side so am familiar with audit. M4 in big 4, not sold on staying in tax. Would I be qualified and is this a terrible idea?
