My employer isn’t safe harbor and we fail the nondiscrimination testing for 401K each year which results in me getting back roughly 9K of the $19.5K max. I generally end up putting the refund disbursement into my brokerage account. Given that I can only historically contribute $10K to 401K, what would others recommend I do with the $9/9.5K difference other than putting it in a non-tax advantage brokerage account? I already do a backdoor Roth IRA and HSA. Do I have any other options?

Have any of you approached your employer for reimbursement for being asked to use your phone at work? Specifically things like texting your boss while they are in court? I started a new job and am trying to set boundaries but this is one that I cannot set as it is standard practice. In our state, an employer must reimburse you if they direct you to use your personal phone for work. It seems petty, but I’m trying to (rightfully) cash in on something that I would rather not have to do.

So, I started watching “Limitless” with Chris Hemsworth. Apparently, he found out he carries both genes for dementia which puts him at a higher risk. So the series is about him changing things in his life for longevity. The third episode is about fasting and he fasts for 4 days until the day he has to hunt for his food. Does anyone in healthcare have thoughts on this type of fasting? I know it is done in some cultures and religions, but to what extent?

Has anyone had a vaginal birth and had their doctor clear them after more than 6 weeks? My company pays 100% of maternity leave if for medical reasons, but the rest is unpaid. Going to talk to my doctor and not looking to game the system, just genuinely curious.

I’m 24, got laid off June 29th, (it’s whatever) but I am wanting to get out of my current field in corporate healthcare operations and move into tech or consulting. Consulting I think just fits my personality but my question is more for tech.

I absolutely suck at learning code, all code, SQL, Python, Java…I tried YouTube and always make errors that I don’t know how to fix or correct. Any recommendations for learning how to code so I can get a job in tech? If so, which code should I prioritize.

Hi All,
Really need some input. We have our new construction done by April 2023. Builder is giving us 28,000 credits which can be used towards closing cost and buy lock rate for 6 months from now and giving us the interest rate for 6.75% for 30 years from US bank. But I also spoke to credit union they give us 5 ARM for 5.5% but can lock rate in feb 2023. So should go with the US bank with 6.75% plus incentives or wait till feb 2023 and thn lock rates(us bank doesn’t give us ARM rates).

However, I have lost my mojo. Reviewing Recruiter job postings does nothing to inspire me.
