My family is on my health plan and it’s open enrollment. Spouse is currently on leave and their federal health plan open enrollment is early next year. Is it possible to enroll us and our child on my health plan and then switch to spouse’s plan during their open enrollment? Also, typically are fed health plans that much better than private for families with one child?

I’m confused why your spouses’s open enrollment is next year? The Open Season for federal employees is now through December 13. Do you mean the plans selected will go into effect next January? If you enroll on your plan, you’ll need a life event to change/cancel your family’s coverage. You can check with HR, but generally it’s birth/adoption, death, change in employment status, etc. Based on that you may end up paying for two plans unless you can have your spouse enroll for a plan starting in January. It’s hard to say what plan is better without comparison, but that being said I feel like you get more bang for you dollar with a fed plan. Most people do one of the BCBS standard or Basic, and I know people starting to look into some of the HDHP as the government contributes towards your HSA.

For anyone debating whether to go in house, I recently went in house, and the mental health benefit of not having to worry about billable hours is completely worth the switch. It's great not having to worry about catching up on hours when I'm out for a doctor's appointment, vacation, etc. It's more of a mental health relief than I guessed it would be.

Florida ppl: I live in a condo & the AC in my unit is leaking refrigerant. Repairmen came by as the AC kept freezing & they said it's leaking inside and the only way to fix it is to replace it. My landlord is refusing to replace the unit for at least 6 months. He's hoping that the Freon they put it will magically fix it. Lease says that he has to keep things in working order. My electric bill is mega high because of this. It's annoying to deal with. I have health concerns about that leak. Help?

Good morning!

I would love to get into provider credentialing, but all employers I've looked at want at least 3 years of experience. So, I'm looking at Provider Network Coordinator roles, because I'm finding some of those roles don't need AS MUCH experience. I'm a RHIT, and have been working in healthcare for nearly 10 years.

Anyone know who might be looking for a network coordinator?

I recently started working at a firm that does a lot of legal aid. In order to attract more private clients, they want us to go out and do speaking engagements and volunteer work (on our own time). Furthermore, they started asking us to consider doing per diem duty counsel work to bring up our receivables (aka- work as duty counsel and give them our pay). I was so appalled by this comment, I’m beyond livid. I became an associate so I didn’t have to go out and bring in business. (Cont.)

Hi fishes. Is it a fact that PWC payscale is relatively low compared to other Big4s?

I have been approached by PwC HRs twice in last 2 months, both times they did not even shortlist me stating that my expected CTC is high.

My profile:
YoE =6.5yrs + 2yrs tier2-MBA
CCTC=16.5
Expected CTC= 1.4x

2nd time they approached, I even brought down my exp CTC to 1.3x. Still they said PwC does not have budget.

I already have offer of 1.45x from another Big4. Its only PwC that is not budging. :(
