I’m so sorry for your loss. Hope you find comfort in the loving memories you shared together.
I would keep the noticr simple:
I’m writing to inform you of the passing of name who worked in x department. He spoke fondly of his time with the company. Include a link to the obituary notice and/or wake/funeral details, if comfortable.
I would tell the manager or partner you’re working for
Sorry! I misread your post. And sorry for your loss.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I can't even think how hard it must be to have to take care if all these logistics now. I think if I had to do something like this, I would compose a brief email stating thr passing, cause if you wish yo share, and funeral etc arrangements, if thats arranged yet. Some of your dads colleagues might want to attend or pay their respects in whatever form we do that now in covid times. I would also ask whoever I'm emailing to inform anyone your father worked with who might want to know and/or pay their respects. I think that would be a good start. People will understand if you are very brief or any form that email takes really. And you can work out anything else later (i.e. if there is some paperwork or collecting his personal stuff from the office etc). Again. Very sorry.

Is there anything specific you wish to communicate beyond the passing of your father? That might change things a little.
I think that’s pretty much it?? We’re mostly taken care of
Well you’ll want to email them (for legal paper trail) but you will also want to call and discuss the matter. He might have also had a secondary life insurance benefit through his employer so I would ask about that/ask to be connected with HR
