My firm is growing our Mobile Dev/Engineering team and we are trying to find a good way to conduct more technical interviews that are Mobile focused. Any recommendations?

Had a phone interview with hiring manager last Thurs. Thought the conversation went well and the recruiter said she will be in touch as soon as she gets feedback from the manager. Now it’s Tues and nothing. Is this bad? Or am I just being too antsy? Do I need to chill out?😖

Hey guys, I would be applying for my H1-B for the first time coming March. I wanted to confirm the timeline when it’s safe to travel to India when I get picked up in the lottery, and when I don’t!

Trying to exit into FAANG but know it may be a long shot involving a handful of rejections. Meanwhile got approached by a number of recruiters for a) smaller emerging startup <but need to shift geo>, and b) major banks for in-house strategy. I’ll proceed with interviews with a) since it will give me a flavour of tech recruiting, but should I even go through with interview process for b)? Thoughts? Fyi, have not interviewed in 4+ years!

Adventures in Interviewing: Today we were wrapping up a pretty good interview with a strong potential candidate. When asked if they had any last questions, they said that they had an issue with our Work from Home policy (we’re 100% WFH right now, and will not consider a re-opening strategy until everyone is vaccinated). The candidate declared that they did not believe in vaccines, so we needed to allow her to be a permanent remote hire. I guess I’m glad about the dodged bullet, so there’s that.

If you are waiting to hear back from an interview, can you start applying for more positions in the meantime? There’s a position that seems like a better fit than one I interviewed for (and don’t think the interview went well)

My parents are white baby boomers from the Midwest. Over the last 10 years, they've:
-Stopped attending their church
-Quit going to all social events
-Don't bother to go visit my grandparents or their extended family
-Soley rely on my sister, my brother, and I for all social interaction
-Expect us to come over to their house exclusively. They trek to my brother's twice a year for grandkids' holidays and have never been to my apartment we've had for 3y

I manage a team of young talent who don’t earn that much, and I obviously cover and expense the bill when it’s an official team dinner or event, but what’s the protocol for casual stuff? I wouldn’t be able to expense impromptu, casual things like this, so it would be my own money.
