My firm merged and I have to take my money out of old 401k plan. I have option to roll over into an IRA. Can one roll over to an IRA even if he would be ineligible for an IRA under normal circumstances?

Yes. It's called a Rollover IRA.

Yea. Is the money is in, it’s in. You’re looking at a designated account: rollover IRA.

Limits are only for contributions or deductions. There is no limit to the amount that can be rolled over

Just switched jobs. Old 401k has more than $5k and new 401k is with a different provider. Is there any reason whatsoever to move the old 401k cash anywhere, either to the new 401k or to an IRA? Given that it's more than $5k, it can stay there indefinitely, right? I'm fine with the investment options with my old 401k. And I can transfer it over to a new IRA or new 401k anytime, even years in the future, right? Given that no distribution will come to force the 60 day rule?

Need help with a very entry-level career decision… Long-term goal: Product Management/Product Marketing for tech company. 0-1 YOE. 1: CDP Analyst at Accenture, TC ~93 with sign on bonus. No 401k matching first year, 6% after. 2: Sales for CPG (PepsiCo/Unilever/P&G), basically partnering with e-commerce platforms to manage sales and product. Easy job and we get a car on top of TC of $81K (although only 71 of that is base). I know the numbers are both rookie, but I’m fresh outta college.

Does anyone here work for Silicon Valley Bank? They recently acquired Boston Private. I’m a candidate for a job at Boston Private. Wondering if SVB is planning layoffs in the near term at BP? Also, does anyone know the anticipated benefits to be rolled out from SVB as the parent company? Specifically interested in health insurance providers. Thanks in advance for any information! I’m looking for advice. I’m with a company that will be going through an exit soon-ish. It’ll be big. I have a fair amount of equity and I’m fully vested. But I’m so burned out from the pace and the stress of getting us across this finish line. Has anyone left a job before getting through the transaction? I know there could be a bonus at the time of the transaction or benefits of staying after the transaction, but I am not doing my best work and I want to be motivated and inspired again. Cont’d:

3+ years into the my role in the Google Cloud Sales Org, got promoted once (now at L6) but after seeing how calibrations are being done + how many new L7s, and L8s they are bringing into the org instead of promoting internally. I have a strong feeling that it is much easier get to L7 via going external for a few years and come back vs. putting in super hard work and hoping for 2-3 years of EEs+ to get to L7. Love to hear thoughts on this.

I took multiple MBA courses as electives when getting my masters and it seemed like those classes were very basic and easy. Idk if I would learn anything in an MBA program that I hadn’t already learned in undergrad
