That’s what I do (wfh). If I have to go in, it’ll only be for an hour or two and I just grab an open seat (maybe don’t do this if you’re below manager).
They’ll deal with it by setting up a system where you need to go into the office x days a week or just set mandatory meetings in the office (2nd option is a 💩 move, btw, and tells you something of leadership). They’ll “not take attendance”, but I’ve known big 4 and mid-tier offices to track the reservations and track card entry points before so I wouldn’t see why this is any different.

There’s no default remote option for the mandatory in person meetings. I assume if someone pressed for it, it would be set up because firm policy requires that, but the tone is that we have to show up in person. I was scolded by a manager this week for asking if there would be a remote option. I have multiple deliverables due on the same day as the meeting. I was told that a remote option would only be available for a valid health concern (I’ve only been in this team for a few months, so this person has no idea if I have a health condition or not). This person could have just been having a bad day but it was a weird conversation.
Bdo ny has this system already
I think it’s all going that way in PA
I work permanently remotely for a large PA firm and while there is no expectation of me to go in more than once a quarter for significant events/meetings, I think going more regularly helps to build and maintain relationships and helps to learn/teach. I love the ease of working from home and the ample flexibility that allows, but I do think a lot is lost by only rarely going in, for the individual, the team, and the wider organization. I support the hybrid model in which an organization selectively encourages teammates to attend in person when it would be particularly beneficial to the team.
Probably wait until 12/31/22 to worry about it
I think you need to demand free breakfast and lunch
I already have that working from home by a private chef lol my retired hubby
