Can someone share a sample mail format to extend the tcs joining date? What are all the reasons that can be given for extending the joining date? My real reason is I have another offer in a product based company with doj 10 Oct while my DOJ with tcs is 28th Sep . Planning to extend the tcs joining date to be on the safer side if there were any issues in joining the product based company Infosys Tata Consultancy Newco

$85k for a minimum of 2400 billables a year is insane. You could make more as a non-lawyer. I know it’s easier said than done, but you gotta leave ASAP
Thank you for the words of encouragement! I’ve been trying. Down here in Florida, ID is the most popular and it is the one that is always hiring.
I am so drained with this place. It is absolutely ridiculous. Some other miami firms are only offering 60k-65k for 180 billables.
GTFO, like yesterday. I just left ID to do L&E litigation and got an 81% pay increase for fewer billable hours. That was not a typo. Eighty-one percent pay raise!
PM me.
That. Is. Ridiculous.
Tell me about it
My god this is insane, how in the world do they keep associates
I’ve been trying to! I feel so stuck to this place, it is hard to find one that isn’t insurance defense and the ones I found want 1-3 years experience in the field they are hiring for.
😭😭
as an ID survivor who recently made it out, I come on here and read these stories and have to wonder why my experience was so different. I worked at 4 different ID firms, and while I hated almost every minute of it, none of them had these insanely low salaries and insanely high billable hour requirements. I was actually pretty well compensated (when i left ID,$150k for 1900 hours as a sixth year with $10-$20k bonuses ) and had an excellent work-life balance.
I gather from the rest of this thread that you are in Miami. Miami's COL is comparable to NYC (where I practice), and there are ID firms here in NYC paying what I described in my last post, and more in some cases. And with numbers like you've described, even if your friend makes partner at the firm, it doesn't sound like they will be be breaking $200k. Get out while you can.

Welcome to Cole Scott and Kissane.
Lol, I'd agree with you, but posting attorney is making a bonus; CSK axed that at the end of last year.
STAY AWAY FROM ID FOLKS
To add insult to injury, this firm is considered one of the higher paying firms.
There are miami firms paying 60-65k for 180 billable hours per month.
😂😂
In what field of ID are you practicing?
Thank you
I’m sorry. I’m stuck in the ID world too, and I’m debating just getting out of law all together. I can’t find a job outside of ID and if I stay in ID it will probably kill me. Graduated in the top of my class, editor-in-chief of my law review, judicial internship in school; but once you’re in ID long enough you’re tainted.
No, never. Do not give up. Talk to your friends from law school. There is always a way out.

Worked at a regional ID firm like that and left. Every Monday I had to email a specific partner in my group my hours for the prior week and had to explain why I never had 50 hours. Not a fun time. Not worth it.
Absolutely ridiculous
Rising Star
I was never in ID, what I have always been surprised about is why more ID lawyers don’t go into the more lucrative other side—insurance recovery and insurance coverage.
where are you located?
