My first impression of HBO Max: the classic movie catalog alone makes it worth the price.

Casablanca, 8 1/2, Seven Samurai, 2001, Bringing up Baby, Ivan the Terrible, Freaks, North by Northwest, Gone with the Wind, Doctor Zhivago, Ben-Hur, An American in Paris, at least eight Godzilla movies, A Hard Days Night, Rock n Roll High School....and so on....

This doesn’t include the other content like Harry Potter and DC Comics.

You and I have VERY different definitions of “classic” movies! 😂

like

I guess what I’m learning is that I don’t really like movies. 😂. Hate Star Wars. Hate Harry Potter. Hate LOTR, comic book films, sci fi and romance. 😂

Expand on Harry Potter? Does it have all 8 movies?!

Yes

Totally worth it!

I've been seeing ads for HBO Max on TV and on my Roku. Does HBO Max come with DirecTV or is it a standalone channel?

P1 — if you have HBO Now today on your Roku today, it should either automagically upgrade or you can force an upgrade to HBO Max. That is, if Roku and TW agreed to terms.

Is friends really on it?

And so is “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air”!!!

Anyone know where to play some Texas NL Hold’em in ATL?

Im a RN and took on a new role working in Home Health. I chose this position because My husband & I recently moved to PA with our 2 kids (1&3), with no family available for his residency program with a hospital. If you know that life, I’m pretty much the main parent for our kids. I don’t want to work in the hospital/floor work anymore; nor do I believe the hrs are flexible enough. I need a job that’s flexible for the kids but pays >$44/hr. Maybe remote or hybrid? Please help w/ suggestions.

Moving to San Diego in the spring from the central coast. Any recs on places to live (late 30’s with a kid)? Want to be close to restaurants and things to do, but a little too old and tired for gas lamp!

Found a most enlightening work on decolonial history with tons of TIL moments especially about Anti Colonial movements in Egypt, China, Japan and course India in the 19th and 20th centuries. Most histories this period often adopt a Euro-centric lens but this book flips it and tells the stories of these turbulent times from the vantage point of the pioneering Asian leaders like Tagore, Al Afghani, Kang Youwei etc. Lovers of Asian history would surely appreciate this book

I’m 37, 5 years into working for a distributor of building products and have climbed the ladder 🪜 from Territory Manager to Regional Sales Manager, but I’m in charge of 6 of our 7 states and want to travel less now that I have a child. Going back to work Jan 4 and my 3 month old won’t take a bottle. We’ve tried since she was 1.5 months and she just holds the bottle nipple in her mouth but she doesn’t suck.

For now, I’m ok with breastfeeding while working, but just in case with meetings and whatnot, it’d just be awesome if my husband could feed her.

Any advice? Is it possible to get baby on a feeding schedule that I could just put on my Google calendar as “pumping” time?

Parents who have or have had a baby. How was the first year or two for you? Was it awesome, was it terrible, did it change your relationship with your partner? Did you regret it, did you want out? I've heard that having a baby can really change things between you and your partner and that a lot of marriages fall apart at that point. Just interested in stories and feedback.

Also curious if one partner kind of pressured the other into having a child/was driving force in wanting the baby.

Our district is so lax on the students this year. With tech issues and distance learning days, we’ve gone from accommodating to enabling real quick. No penalties for late work, taking excuses for attendance, lower academic and behavioral standards... We were beginning to make so much progress on transforming our school culture, but this year is erasing that and then some. Is anyone else concerned about how to raise the expectations and students’ self-discipline back to pre-enabling levels?
