As long as you have a normal cervix, it doesn’t hurt at all. Quick procedure. I assume you mean you are on clomid again for this iui and will do a trigger. I did clomid with timed intercourse and then letrozole with IUI. My body reacted much more favorably to letrozole and I didn’t feel crazy. Clomid made me feel like garbage and super bloated. I did three IUIs with no success and moved to IVF with success. Genuinely hope this works for you!! Best of luck in the new year.
I am similar to your situation. Started with clomid but responded well with letrozole later. 4 failed IUI. So this month going to start for IVF. My estrogen patch will start in a week. Any experience sharing or suggestion?
For me, it didn’t hurt; maybe was a little uncomfortable for a minute, but felt like a Pap smear. What I wasn’t prepared for was how tired I would be after. I ended up napping that day and feeling exhausted. But that was it.
Clomid didn’t affect me at all, no symptoms from that, and didn’t feel emotional.
I did 100mg btw and only had one follicle and got pregnant (36 weeks now). It only takes one!
Good luck to you!!!
Did my IUI today. It wasn’t so bad. But I do feel a little crampy. Hopeful. Send some baby dust !!! 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼
Good luck to you! ❤️
I definitely had some rough effects before, during, and after the procedure. Apparently I had tons of eggs and my body reacted really strongly to the meds so I needed a few days of recovery. Was harder than I had expected.
I'm in the exact same scenario and timeline. Hoping for the best!
I had one where I felt nothing! One that felt like a Pap smear. And one that was actually pretty pinchy and uncomfortable.
Basically, you get on the table and get cranked open. Then they take this long skinny tube and put into your vagine, and then they squirt in all the lovely spermies. Then they take out the tube, put your legs back together, and have you keep your feet flat. You’ll rest for about ten minutes. You might feel some sperm ooze. Then you get up when the timer goes off, get dressed, go home and relax the rest of the day.
Emotions and everything are all totally normal.
My clinic’s protocol was to not proceed if there were more than two eggs. So don’t worry if it’s one or two or more.
Ask your doctor to show you exactly what they use and exactly what it will look like.
But really it’s super simple. I was super scared too. But they do tons of them and know how to do it painlessly.
You’re going to do amazing! So much of this is scary because it’s unknown. Keep asking questions. This bowl is so supportive.
For me it was a little pinchy and lasted a little longer than a pap for the procedure but was not a big deal.
If you have normal cervix, it should be pretty quick and simple procedure. It is normal to fear or feel overwhelmed, but know that we are here to support. I have a very tight cervix, so this is super uncomfortable for me each time I go for an ultrasound Or IUI. But people with normal cervix, nothing to be scared for IUI. Each time I come out of the room, I wish I had a normal cervix. Atleast this part would not be that difficult for me then. So just relax and stay positive. Doctors say you need to go with moderate full bladder but for me, empty bladder works well. So if you have any issues, ask doctor about bladder condition. It took me 3 cycle to find out that an empty bladder works for me instead of moderate bladder.
Interesting about the bladder. I’ll have to ask. Thanks.
