I'm sorry to hear that. Are you getting enough sunlight and exercise? Seasonal affective disorder is just around the corner

Is December a triggering month for you? Is your trauma linked to this month? If so you might need a bit more help dealing with that trauma, it might still be lingering. Have you heard of EMDR? Fantastic way to get those traumatic memories out of your head!

Has anyone here found that they tend to attract people who have a lot going on? I have been working on drawing boundaries and developing healthy friendships. One of the things my therapist made me do was get on Bumble bff and while I have met some great people on it, several have a lot of needs or difficult situations going on and I am very worried that I am still attracting versions of drama into my life despite doing the work.

So my issue is having developed a panic/anxiety disorder where I may be very compromised by anxiety for a minute or two especially during introductions in a presentation. I can’t logic it away because its the amygdala. 99% of time if I get past the first 3-5 min, I’m perfectly fine and confident. I’m not embarrassed by it. In an ideal world, I would introduce myself in a presentation by saying “hey if I have a little anxiety, just let me pause for a minute and feel safe” and it’s fine.

Anyone struggle with maintaining a good relationship with their parents? They always offer support for things like food and housing. But they never take an interest in my life. They haven’t for the last 8 years or so (I’m 24). They never ask about my job, or friends, or really know anything about me. I’ve had so many arguments over the years trying to tell them that this is the love I need and it just doesn’t happen. I find myself parenting them more often.

After months of depression and suicidal thoughts, I had a big realization that pulled me out of it.. that I’m alone in the world and I can’t rely on anyone else but myself. As a chronic people pleaser, this was liberating.

I am realising that “being happy at work” is a myth, and the whole love what you do stuff is also BS. Novelty wears off eventually.
