Interesting question and curious as to why anyone thinks there is a minimum amount of time to do anything that is tasking on one’s physical and mental health…he stays if the paycheck, albeit small, is needed to keep roof over their head, but if it were me, I would be proactively searching for another position immediately…having trouble deciphering if it’s the environment that is in fact toxic or (sorry not sorry) the false sense of entitlement that all too many of this new generation entering the workforce possesses. Not sure if that answers the question or not.
Just leave and use it as a learning experience. Know what questions to ask and how to sus out a bad job ahead of time.
He doesn’t have to write it on his resume. Recruiters and prospective employers don’t expect you to write every single job you’ve ever had on your resume.
If he can he needs to leave now before he wastes anymore of his time. If needs to write it down on his resume so it appears he has work experience write it down as a contract or freelance job.
Write it down as a freelance or contract job. That implies that it’s a temp job which explains why he was there for a short period of time.
Also, since he’s a new grad recruiters aren’t expecting new grads to stay at a job for a long period of time especially with all the tech layoffs.
I’ve seen a number of “inside sales” positions that really amount to telemarketing but with a veneer of “tech” which basically translates to significant additional expectations on the employee. Very nearly fell into one after college. He should get into another job ASAP and maybe even leave off his current job from the resume if it’s that much of a concern.
