McKinsey & Company How likely is McKinsey to rescind an offer if there's a recession/downturn before my start date? Received an Associate offer with a start date early in the Fall. But I'm worried about the offer being rescinded due to the ongoing McK scandals/issues and a potential recession in the making (which may prompt them to freeze hiring and/or renege offers).
Has this happened to anyone before at McKinsey, offer getting rescinded due to economic/company downturn? A bit worried

Not to be a dick, but just straight forward ,unless you have deep expertise in some special area, mbb uses the basic shortcut of mostly only recruiting from top 10 schools or so. I didn’t go to top 10, but maybe top 15-20 and mostly got in due to previous consulting experience.
For campus recruiting….but you are done with that. We recruit constantly. People onboard every week. You have a bigger problem if what you have been doing is in no way relevant. Spin it.
So I actually am still working on my DBA but it won't be finished until 2024.
The experience I have is in business administration and management ie banking and as a director of a nonprofit. However, Covid and life changes have made it so that I can finally pursue consulting.
Hiring graduates is on a cycle, but hiring experienced professionals is not
I’ve never seen a dba at mck. Where you going to school at ?
I think only a few of the top MBA schools offer DBA.
I'm doing my DBA through Liberty, it's where I did my MBA as well.
I have recently seen people joining Bain with absolutely no consulting or Strategy background. Until you are connecting the dots with your passion, you’ll be fine
I’ve seen full time MBAs who did everything but consulting /strategy for a few years and then join Bain
You went to Liberty University and you want to work at MBB? 1) not a target school, not even close 2) MBB are by far the most liberal of the consulting firms. We are proud of our diversity, especially welcoming towards all sexualities and gender expressions. The first time you treat one of your colleagues differently because of your evangelical lunacy you will find yourself persona non grata. We do not put up with that bullshit.
