hey folks, I am going to join Oracle ossi in Hyderabad location. I have never been to Hyderabad, and will be relocating. Please guide on what would be good areas to look for rent. Also, what would be rent like for 2/3 bhk. Ideally my budget for rent would be <25k. Initially I will be going but in future my family will join me once I am settled. Any points to note or any other gotcha to keep in mind ? Please suggest.
Visiting San Diego, wouldn’t mind a night out 🍸

Gotcha thank you! I thought I’d need all that for servicing and such so this is a relief.
Bring it to get serviced at the RSC. There is one in NY. They can give you an appraisal for insurance purposes - I think I paid $175 for mine. They’ll give you a Rolex letterhead letter with all of the watch’s details and value. That’ll authenticate the watch since Rolex won’t provide that letter unless the watch had been opened up and authenticated

OP - the watch should have two numbers on the outside of the case - you’ll need to remove the bracelet to see them. A jeweler can likely do this for you for free if you don’t have the tools.
One number will be the reference number for the model, and the other number will be the serial number unique to the watch. Depending on when it was produced, you may be able to narrow down the production date based on this info, but it sounds like this was purchased right around the time they started using random serial numbers that are no longer possible to date. https://precisionwatches.com/rolex-year-serial-numbers-lookup/
Ultimately there isn’t much value in having the box or papers - my watch boxes just take up space in the back of a closet. The warranty documentation is only useful if the watch is still under the warranty, which this isn’t. No reason to be upset that that stuff is gone. The watch is the only important part, and it’ll be nice to have a reminder of your grandmother that you can wear all the time.
I’d say start wearing it - a local jeweler can resize the bracelet if necessary (though without the box, if it’s too small, you might need to buy extra bracelet links). If it isn’t keeping good time, then it might need a service, but I’d honestly be surprised. Get insurance so that you don’t have to worry about it - you can use Hodinkee insurance which wouldn’t require an appraisal, or use Jewelers Mutual, which you’d need to submit an appraisal (I recommend Elite Timepieces, which is online and cheap).
Put up a photo so we can see!

Gotcha, thank you so much! This is so helpful. And what a relief.
I need the reference number in order to insure it, so it sounds like I need to take this to someone to at least get that off the watch 😅
Serial # on watch can be verified on rolex site plus many of these on 2nd hand market go without paperwork

M1, why wouldn’t you recommend that?
