Thanks EY1. Yes, as sad as we are, he was old and frail. He lived a full life - he was a professional musician in the 30s, had a loving wife of 60 years, served his country as an infantryman in WWII, and had 2 sons and 3 grandsons. I'm proud to be his grandson as cliche as that sounds. I just hate that I can't tell him anymore

Mine passed away 2 weeks ago. First time someone close in my fam passes away. Strange feeling, mixed emotions. I hope you got the chance to give him a last goodbye, i am sure he was proud of you. Support your grandma as much as you can, she loved a lifetime partner in crime and will feel lonely.

My condolences OP. My grandpa died a few months ago and it was the strangest feeling. I'm sorry for your loss and I hope you find a way to cope with the loss.
Also Op, I lost mine when I was in first grade. I still remember the day when my dad came to get me from school the middle of the day when he passed away. In a way I'm jealous that you get to spend such big part of your life with him. Still deepest condolences.
