Is it an AMH test? I did one while I was on hormonal birth control a few years ago. The results came back looking VERY grim for ever having a child. It sent me in to a tailspin and eventually to 2 fertility specialists. The second one told me to disregard and that we just don’t have enough data on what AMH levels means and not to worry. Within a few months I was pregnant naturally with my son. All of this is to say, always take an AMH test with a grain of salt and know that birth control can impact results!

The tests my doc put in for are: AMH, follicle stimulating hormone, luteinizing hormone, and estradiol

It’s going to take a while for your body to flush out the hormones. Going off of birth control for one week shouldn’t bring on any serious PMS if any at all. But, it’s always good to keep an Advil on hand just in case.

My new gyno is having me go off BC for two full cycles before I get my full hormone panel. Said that any blood tests I’ve had previously to check hormones while on it have been moot and wants me to start fresh to see what’s really going on. I have experienced majorly painful periods and ovarian cyst ruptures off BC in the past — so she told me to take a supplement called DIMS to help, and use progesterone cream at a certain time in my cycle (starting two weeks before my P until 2-3 days in) to help combat the gnarly period symptoms.

Standard is to stop the pill and wait for day 1 of your next period. You have to get tested within days 1 and 3 to get a baseline read of your amh, fsh, estradiol, and tsh. And to also get a read of follicle count — this will provide a sense of how many eggs they can retrieve if you decide to do ivf. You actually might need to wait a few cycles to get your body to stabilize. Not sure if you need midol or chocolate to get your period…I was fine but I’ve never had crippling pms. But overall, I’d just be prepared to hear any news — good or bad. In my case, I got bad news at age 34 and I wasn’t ready for it. Fertility journey is emotionally taxing. So just brace yourself. Hopefully for you, everything goes smoothly. Consider yourself lucky if it does

I’m curious. Also the symptoms I’m having could indicate a thyroid issue, which I’ve just found out my mom is dealing with. Also getting tested for thyroid issues. Symptoms I’ve never experienced have been thrown at me. I want to know why.

I really need advice from moms with school aged children- it’s the third f-ing week of school and I’ve gotten two notes from the teacher about my 8year old. First - he doesn’t sit still so fell off his chair, struggles with keeping his mask on, calls out, and a student pinched him. I apologized and said I’ll talk to him about mask wearing etc., Second note today just is making me lose my mind! She said he passed a note to his desk mate saying stop putting your stuff everywhere, child wrote back.

Our baby is due soon so we’ve made the decision that we will only have visits from vaccinated family members (not realizing it would be an issue) only to find out that my Dad will never be getting vaccinated, planned to lie about it AND asked other family members lie to us about his vaccination status too… when we found out and asked him about it, he started to FREAK out. Now I’m questioning if we’re being unreasonable… how have you guys been handling unvaccinated people meeting your newborns??
