My head is spinning 😵💫 is this real?

Chobani as a client - should I? Any insight?
I’ve recently been told that starting salary for new partners in Deloitte UK starts at £160k with no equity, and chances of getting any is slimmer and slimmer every year. My friends group has 6-7 parters and only 1 has equity. Head of the group doesn’t even have equity.
Anyone know if this is true?
Got done with my Google onsite last week for non tech role(s). I was asked to interview for a second role (R2) based on resume. (I feel this is because i bombed RRK for role 1). Today, recruiter said he will be moving HC as he had seen good feedback all around. However something seemed off when he said the role is L4 and will be going ahead with the HC if i confirm I’m ok with the TC range. Not sure how to respond. Does this happen often ?Google
What’s the deal with GSW?
If TCJA gets reversed I will shoot myself

You can ask whatever you want - but don't be shocked when you don't get the offer. I just interviewed a good candidate that I liked. She was a little light for the position, but I thought she had real potential. When we got around to salary expectations, she asked for roughly what an experienced senior manager consultant (12+ years) would be making (and we are at top end of scale and above other Big 4 competition). She had roughly 3 1/2 years experience, and was interviewing for a roughly 6 year position (new manager). I have no idea where people come up with these numbers.
P1 can you share the number she asked for lol
The story isn’t written well so I highly suspect it’s not true. The only point I agree with is the last point. When you have compensation and bonus discussions, do your homework and present market information/facts you gathered based on your role, years of experience, and so forth. You’ll get respect for knowing your work. At worst, you may get a ‘no’ but you will get respect for standing up for yourself
I automatically assume any post by folks with influencer in their titles to be a bunch of crock.

And then they all stood up and clapped

I don’t believe it for a second
@SP1 it's so comical and out of touch. Probably have a heart attack when they find out Directors in Tech make $800-$2M+/yr
This dude appears to be a full time influencer / inspirational speaker now. No way it’s real.
Lol it’s a real post but def not a real story. Setting these unrealistic expectations for folks with 3-4 years of experience is ridiculous.
Meta, Apple, Microsoft, Alphabet, Amazon?
I prefer that to FAANG.

And that direct report? He was a Shiba Inu. Just goes to show you…
Must have been a data dog. 😂

It's true, I was the recruiter from the competitor's

Going to ask my manager to 4x my salary this week

Don’t forget to give them a reasonable amount of time like 2y
I read the thread. This guy is bogus but I now have a crush on Sunita.
$250 for interview prep with an influencer loool.
You could hire 4 seniors at $450….
He got that much salary cause that main story guy had helped homeless a dog by feeding him on rainy day on his first interview day. When he came late to interview he saw the same dog there as CEO and was offered 450K after after the protagonist declined the intial $1 mill offer. 🤪

Is this the ambitious professional equivalent of the airbrushed photos on Instagram and Facebook making people feel ugly because they don't look like the fake photos they see?
Even if this individual story is true it's not representative of what more than 99% of even the highest performers should expect at 3 YOE.
Rising Star
Yes, right comparison!
Can confirm this is a true story, I was the Amazon rainforest
I got an 80% bump in base comp with up to 8% bonus moving to a different firm. When they ask about comp it’s not how much you would do the job for. It’s how much will it take you to:
Leave your network. Security of a big 4. Maybe some 401k money, getting less time off, a hit on prestige.
And that number is why you can command drastically improved salaries.
omg who are you and what did you do to get a 80% bump and can you teach me your ways?
Who are these influencers anyway? What do they do for income?
Rising Star
they post a ton of crap that anyone older than 16 should know and hope someone buys their course
It says he was an SM of Product Management at Amazon. Did he make 450k a year? Does Amazon pay this much? Can anyone confirm? Because I need a referral if the offers are that high! Lol
Rising Star
Yes, check levels.fyi.
This seems exaggerated but entirely possible (if all the stars align). If you had someone at 3-4 YOE and then they moved to product and got another 2 YOE at 5-6 YOE total—450 is within reach for the highest paying tech cos. More likely also means that you have a specialized background that the new job is looking for (eg payments infra) and values highly vs. being a generalist.
Tech pays a ridiculous amount.
That LinkedIn post looks like an ego trip for the poster more than anything else.
