Yup. I’m a divorce attorney and the risk of sounding disingenuous/like a psychopath, I like other people’s drama (re property, assets and support). Reading case law is the best part. Mind you, the hours are probably why I’m still single and don’t have my own drama.
Nope, still hopeful that I’ll get married - but with a tightly drafted prenup. (Unless I marry the CEO of Zoom Video Conferencing or someone of equivalent net worth lol 💸💸💸)
I came in as first in-house counsel to a mid-size tech company. There was twenty years of bad practices to clean up. It’s been exhausting, like swimming in the ocean and wave after wave comes and pushes you back. But I love it, everyday brings something new, I’m constantly learning, and I love dealing with the intersection of new tech and the laws put in place to regulate. The conversations I have had around interpreting and applying the CCPA to my company have been riveting. 🤓 don’t judge my idea of fun.
I’m a privacy attorney so the CCPA is my jam! Sounds like we do very similar work!
I'm a first year doing commercial lit. I love reading and writing, so it's a good fit. It's the best feeling in the world when I find good case law to make a competent argument that is incorporated into a brief or motion. I don't mind doing doc review either. I learn the intimate details of the case and partners rely on me to add context. Hopefully, I get to start taking low-risk depos soon. It looks fun!
