I'm looking for some kind of Japanese language classroom environment in the Santa Monica / West LA area. I've been self-learning via Duolingo and other apps for the past year, and I've hit a wall. No problems with reading hiragana/katakana, doing all right with kanji. I currently need classmates and an instructor to motivate me to memorize speaking phrases and practice active conversation. I know there are apps for this type of language exchange, but they're usually 1:1 matches and virtual.

I took advantage of Verizon’s Black Friday deals and got myself the new iPhone yesterday. I’m AMAZED by all the neat things it can do. One of my favorites is that you can grab text from a picture and have it read aloud. This would be so helpful for my students with vision needs and those with reading disabilities. When do we think we’ll actually see this technology in the classroom? Can’t very well put “iPhone” on a students assistive tech section of their IEP 😂

Hi there! I attended a virtual robotics workshop last week. I learned a lot and especially enjoyed connecting with others who were using robots in their classroom. I hope you join the discussion and we can find a way to support each other.

Just sharing a few of my doors. You can save them to your phone and use them in your Bitmoji classrooms.

How do I respond to an observation score of a II in an area where I feel the score was unwarranted? I scored III in all other areas. The score was a II because I had students working on Google Classroom & was finishing up emails before I transitioned into the classroom reading. It’s the week before midterms, and I have duty for 20 minutes of my 50-minute planning period in 1st. I have to respond to these emails in a timely manner & all students were working diligently on the first assignment.

How often do MBB firms raise pay, specifically for the undergrad and post-MBA levels? I know that they all raised bases about 10k fairly recently, and with investment banks raising pay yet again, will we see a pay increase sooner rather than later? I guess I don’t know anything about the history of MBB pay increases and what factors go into an increase. Would love some insight on this topic if anyone has some, as I’m incoming at one of the firms next year.
