Agree with EY1. Find another nanny. We had one nanny who was just not a good fit, but three other phenomenal nannies who were like a part of our family. I’d rather lessen my family exposure right now and just have one person come to the house. Plus having the help around the house with light housework, etc. is life-saving.
I wouldn’t totally rule out a nanny based on your experience with this one. She sounds like she’s not a great fit for your family. A good nanny can make your life SO much easier! It’s hard during the pandemic because you have to worry over whether the day care workers and the families of the other kids are all being safe vs only the one nanny. I’d probably stick with a nanny right now (but find a better one) vs take a chance with daycare if I had the option. But ultimately you have to do what works for you guys. Getting the kids out of the house so you can work may also be better for your situation!
My daughter has been going to daycare since August. It's been fine. I know two other families sending their kids to other daycares. They've also had no issues. 🤞

Same. Have been back since June and zero covid cases. Kids aren’t transmitting it well at this age (thankfully)!
My daughter has been back in daycare since June. They have very strict protocols in place and have had no issues. I feel more comfortable packing her lunches myself so I know what she’s eating and having multiple adults around at all times.
I have raised two children (now both teenagers) with the nanny route / experience. We didn't just find one that stayed with us the entire time, BTW. There is a family-fit dynamic that I think you will want to consider before you throw in the towel on whether a nanny is the best option. Having nannies for my family was so beneficial on so many levels ... from really helping with the kiddos, to helping around the house, being readily available when I had to travel for work, etc.
We have talked about her performance and we will see improvement for a few days then right back to not doing much. She has been with us for 3 months (I say that but she’s taken at least 2 weeks off in that time)
