That's actually a great bet. And not high stakes. Sounds like you want to give your kid a lame name and he knows it.

I found out today that my employer doesn’t offer any paid parental leave (maternity or paternity). This isn’t a major issue now, but my wife and I are planning on trying in a year or so from now. How many other employers don’t offer any paid leave at all? Coming from public accounting this seemed outrageous to me, but curious to see what other companies are like.

Or perhaps cultural norms that are outdated, but still very influential?

I’m having a bit of sticker shock here as I look at my step son’s and step daughter in laws baby registry. They are asking for a stroller that is $600 an extra seat for it which is $250. It’s been a long time since I shopped for a baby. Am I that much out of touch??Is that normal to pay that much or am I being cheap?? Just wondering.

Hiring question: candidates today are requiring very high salaries and we are getting to a point where the average candidate for a particular role is asking for more than I make. I just got promoted and got a 9% increase, which I’m not terribly happy with.
