My husband has been expressing some concerns about whether he'll be a good dad - because he wants to be the best. It's kind of cute actually, but he really is looking for some support. Are there any good books or groups or anything for men in this regard? Thanks!

My husband loved The Expectant Father book. Also, r/daddit could be a good resource. I’ve loved my Reddit bumper group but it’s very heavily female.

We actually got the audiobook and both listened. It was hilarious and so helpful 😀

He may also be eager for community— maybe a local birthing or parenting class so you can meet other expectant parents?

For those in LDRs, how do you stay focused on work in the 1-2 days leading up to reuniting with your SOs? We both just get really excited and expend a lot of anticipatory energy. I thought it’d wear off over time, but we’ve been doing long distance for almost a year (we see each other every 2-3 weeks), and it’s just so unproductive. Sorry if this sounds cold and heartless, but I need tips!

Just found out that a friend of mine and his wife somehow convinced his parents to pay for the the 20% down payment on their $500k house purchase recently. They both work dead end 9-5 industry jobs and don’t aspire to do anything more. The parents have never been super wealthy and I’m guessing this took a chunk of their retirement that they won’t get back. My friend continues to brag about the house to our other friends and even talks down to the ones that rent. Can I call him out on it?

I've been working remotely for the past two years, and it's been great. I love working from home and being able to watch my kids grow up through their eyes as they play around me. But sometimes, when you're in this kind of situation, it's hard to know what to talk about with your coworkers.

Among the comments were, “the person needs to help show Sr. Management the FP&A dept is important and brings value.” “I’m going to be honest, we have other candidates for this position, you need to bring your game to the second interview”. The rest of the interview was describing their problems as a dept and then proceeds to ask if I can handle it. How can I respectfully decline?
