Hi all. I’m scheduled to interview with Microsoft for a Customer Success Manager - Business Applications role next week. It’s structured as a 3 hr (3x45 min each). Any tips on what to expect and how to prepare for this? I was told a recruiting coordinator would reach out but trying to get a jump start on the prep work. Thank you so much in advance for any tips!

We treat bonuses the same way as regular. It goes into a joint pool and we both get a little extra for ourselves. I wouldn’t be able to work the longer hours to get the bonus without his support and career sacrifices and we are a team. I would feel jealous if he got a bonus and thought he deserved extra and didn’t recognize my contributions to the family and sacrifices if it was reverse so I think it’s fair.
My husband and I do something similar with joint accounts and allowances. We consider bonuses also to be joint but since it’s “extra” income depending on amount, we may split and add it to our “allowance”, choose to save it, or put it towards a large purchase or vacation.
We take small “allowances” as well off our normal paychecks and then bonuses we do 1/3 1/3 1/3:
1/3 joint checking or a fun expense like a trip (this month we got a new car so was perfect to go toward that)
1/3 joint savings or investment depending on our current savings goals
1/3 to the personal account of person who earned the bonus
We don’t follow this exactly but a general view of how we’ve looked at our bonuses.
Think as my bonuses start to become a more significant % of my comp, we’ll reduce that last 1/3 down - it just feels nice to have the opportunity to “treat yourself” for a bonus you earned with some personal money.

Take a certain % or dollar amount for yourself and save the rest!

I’d contribute some to savings and some to you! Or better yet, treat yourself, treat your husband to an experience you guys can do together, then save the rest ☺️
Maybe I'm a bit sceptical being a child of divorce but I feel like everyone should have their own emergency savings pot which you could have from your bonus. No loss if things do continue great and later in life you can just enjoy it.
