Has anyone ended up working for a prospect?
I just had a conversation with a CEO at a startup I admire, and the topic turned to sales hires. My jaw dropped at the comp numbers and I also really love the product, their selling philosophy (buyer centric, empathetic ; less volume based), and I feel like the CEO is an extremely empathetic bit straight forward person.
I'm considering throwing my hat in the ring for consideration, at the same time I've got a sales motion going on - any tips?
Highlight whatever transferable skills he has on his resume (e.g. communication, self-starter, interpersonal skills, etc.) as well as any relevant experience that could also be valuable in a sales related role. Entry level sales jobs aren't super hard to break into, but if his resume is optimized it could make the process quicker/easier.
I just shared this on another thread but wanted to share here too.
If your husband hasn’t already - try applying and adding a resume on Hired.com or angel.co.
- Hired.com let’s companies reach out to you first if they’re interested in interviewing you.
- angel.co has plenty of tech sales roles available from various start-ups and large corps worldwide
I’d say he should just emphasise the genuine interest he has
What was his previous experience in?
He was a high school teacher w/ his masters in education. He then sold insurance at State Farm for 2 years. Then ran a coffee roasting/coffee food truck business for several years. Just looking for something more stable/lucrative for our family
SDR position...most companies you don't need any experience.
